Tattoo culture is very close to my heart.
Admittedly, my tattoos need some work, and I definitely have a lot more of them in the pipelines for the future.
One thing is certain, I love tattoos and tattoo culture as a whole.
In Montreal, the tattoo game is on point! Seriously, the ink I see on friends or just randomly around the streets and bars is amazing. I've also come to find some pretty incredible artists in the city that are absolutely worth checking out.
Seeing as summer is on the horizon, and that you may have just gotten a nice tax return, now is the perfect time to plan your next (or first!) ink and be freshly healed for to show it off in the summer months!
Here are 10 incredible tattoo artists in Montreal!
This guy has some mad talent behind the tattoo gun, but his watercolour works are my personal favourite.
Available to book at La Planque Tattoo - which he owns, by the way!
2. David Cote
I'm a sucker for abstract art, so David has to be on the list. His work is very thought-provoking, and he has a signature style for the majority of his art.
3. Hans Deslauriers
One of my favourites in Montreal, Hans Deslauriers has that abstract realism art down to perfection.
4. Melissa Valiquette
Some of the more stunning portrait tattoos I've seen done by a Montreal artist.
You can get in touch with Melissa and book her over at Tatouage DFA on Saint-Catherine Est.
5. Thomas Sekre
Black and white works and dot work seem to be the name of the game for Angus. His work has a very classic-style feel to it.
You can book Angus over at Tatouage DFA on Saint-Catherine Est.
7. JF Biron
Watercolour tattoo work seems to be the most popular tattoo trend this year, with many stellar Montreal-based tattoo artists to choose from who've perfected this style.
8. Yanick "Mr. Sassy" Sasseville
Yannick, Mr. Sassy has got a great talent for classic style tattooing. His work is highly refined and worth checking out for your next ink!
9. Genevieve FT
I have a weakness for classic pin-ups and all variations of them. I think they're stunning! Genevieve has these down to near perfection!
Black and red works are the main signature style behind Montreal artist Rali. Their work is fantastic, but they made my list for their rose tattoo above. It's an interesting twist on the black minimalist tattoo trend I see everywhere, utilizing negative space - making it far more beautiful and refined.
These 10 Montreal-based tattoo artists hardly put a dent in all the amazing talents this city has to offer for your inking needs.
I will be watching this list, and if there is anybody I missed in town, sound off in the comments on Facebook so I can check them out for myself!
Now, go out and get some ink! You'll be better for it.
