With the autumnal weather finally setting in, and Thanksgiving quickly approaching, fall is the perfect time to get together with your friends and family and take in the beautiful colour-changing nature that we have right here near Montreal. There are tons of spectacular cottages for rent not too far from here that, thankfully, won't cost you all of your savings. Who says awesome vacations are just for the summer time? Here are 10 cheap cottages you can rent near Montreal this fall 2015.

1. Mandeville Chalet

With 500 feet of frontage along the Mastigouche river, and nearby trails, fishing, and wildlife reserves, this 8-person cottage is the perfect place to escape the urban jungle of Montreal. Located in Mandeville, this cottage is only about an hour and a half from the city, and is a mere $70 per night. You'll also be able to enjoy on-site kayaking, and bonfires to keep you warm on those crisp fall nights.


2. Saint Zenon Waterfront Chalets

Just 90 minutes outside Montreal, this beautiful chalet is on the edge of the Trudeau Outfitter lakes. For $98 a night, you'll be able to enjoy trout fishing, BBQing, boating, hiking and of course taking some beautiful pictures of all the fall colours. Your Instagram will have never looked better. This place would be perfect for a family getaway or some friends looking for a nice relaxing weekend.


3. Mandeville Cottage

For $150 a night, this place is definitely the best bang for your buck. The cottage can accommodate up to 10 people, and gives you some pretty spectacular views of the mountains. It's also right near Calvary falls and is home to some great hiking trails. The cabin itself has a fireplace and home theatre, so you'll never be bored, even if the weather gets a little too chilly outside.


4. Saint Adolphe D'Howard Cottage

Sat in the village of Saint Adolphe D'Howard, this cozy cottage is the perfect place for a weekend escape, priced at just $200. There's mountain biking, hiking, and all the amenities you could need are within a few minute walk of the cabin (including an SAQ less than a minute away). The cabin itself has an adorable kitchen, living area, and BBQ, so you'll be all set for an amazing trip.


5. Chertsey Chalet

An hour outside of Montreal on the Ouareau river, this chalet can host up to 8 people. It's right near the water with large windows to give you a beautiful view. The chalet comes equipped with TVs, BBQ, washer/dryer, screened porch and a swing. You'll forget all about the stress of city life almost immediately.


6. Laurentides Cottage

This cottage is the epitome of everything a cottage should be: cozy, light, and offering beautiful views of nature. It's an hour from Montreal and is extremely cheap, going for just $275 for a weekend, or, if you want to make the change a little more permanent, you can rent it for the entire winter season (four months) for just $3,250. It has two bedrooms, a wood burning stove, and a large veranda, and wifi and snow removal are also included.


7. Tralina Cottage

Sat right on the lake, Tralina Cottage is the cottage you've always dreamed of. With its own private beach, fishing, canoeing, paddle boating, BBQ, fire pit, hiking, a swingset and basketball net, there's no chance of you ever being bored here. They're also pet-friendly, so you can feel free to bring a long your furry four-legged friend.


8. Ethanya Cottage

Another cottage located directly beside the water, this time on Petit Lac Noir, Ethanya Cottage is just an hour north of Montreal, and has some amazing views of the Laurentian mountains that you don't want to miss. When you're not admiring the spectacular beauty, you can go fishing, boating, hiking, or make some tasty s'mores by the fire.


9. Zimackay Cottage

With gorgeous wood panelled walls and amazing views of the lake, Zimackay Cottage may just be an hour from Montreal, but it'll have you feeling like you're on vacation far, far away. You can enjoy pretty much every outdoor activity that you can think of, and if you want some shopping and fine-dining, you can head into Saint-Saveur, just a few minutes away.


10. Wentworth North Cottage

With enough room to sleep 10 people, this waterfront cottage on Lake Argenté is the perfect place to bring your friends for a fun-filled weekend. Plus it's just $700 for the whole weekend, which means that's just $70 per person, which is not very much at all. The cottage has a big patio, gazebo, dock, BBQ, fireplace, pool table, pinball machine, and a beautiful oak bar for you and your friends to enjoy a drink or two.
