10 Drinks To Get Drunk On With Bacon

Bacon contains a high level of unique amino acids which interact with the body stimulating a clearer mind…which (let’s be honest) is always good after a crazy night out on the town.  A (much less tasty) alternative to not drinking delicious bacon cocktails is to consume 3L of water (that is a lot of H20) after you’re home to guarantee a less intense hangover.

So it’s just logical that bacon cocktails are your way to go!

The Chocolate Bacontini

2oz bacon vodka

2oz chocolate liqueur

1oz Irish cream

A splash of cream

Combine in a cocktail shaker and shake with ice. Strain and pour into a sugar-rimmed martini glass.

The Puckering Pig

1 1/2 oz bacon bourbon

1 1/2 oz lemon juice

3/4 oz sugar syrup

Mint to garnish (or bacon is my vote)

Mix. Simple as that!

The Bourbon Boar

1 1/4 oz Bulleit Bourbon

4 oz bloody mary mix

Dash of Worcestershire

Pour ingredients in a bacon rimmed Tom Collins glass, garnish with a bacon strip, and sprinkle with bacon bits for good measure.

The Sour Swine

1 ¼ parts Basil Hayden’s Bourbon

1 part St-Germain Liqueur infused with applewood-smoked bacon

1 part freshly squeezed and strained lemon juice

1 ½ part diluted maple syrup (1:1 ratio of Vermont grade A medium amber syrup to water)

1 dash Peychaud’s Bitters

¼ pasteurized egg white

In a mixing glass, put together bourbon, bacon-infused St-Germain, lemon juice, diluted maple syrup, bitters, and egg white. Add some ice and shake zealously. Pour into a double old-fashioned glass over new ice. Garnish with bacon, bacon, bacon.

The Old Fashion Piggy

½ ounce maple syrup

2 dashes Angostura bitters

4 ounces bacon-infused bourbon

Ice

Orange twist, for garnish

Candied bacon strip, for garnish

Combine all ingredients except for garnishes with ice in a shaker glass. Stir, then strain and serve straight up or over ice in a rocks glass. Garnish with a twist of orange and a strip of candied bacon.

The Tipsy Pig

3 oz bacon bourbon

1 oz bacon brown sugar simple syrup

1 oz sweet vermouth

5 drops bitters

Candied bacon for garnish

In a shaker filled with ice, add the bourbon, bacon brown sugar simple syrup, vermouth and bitters and shake until well mixed. Place 1 large ice cube into 2 tumblers, pour the cocktail over the ice and garnish with a candied bacon piece and a maraschino cherry on a pick.

The Broken Hoof

1 1/2 oz bacon bourbon

4 1/2 oz warm/hot apple cider

Lemon or lime wedge

Cinnamon stick

Mix bacon bourbon with apple cider in mug or tall glass. Add cinnamon stick and lemon or lime wedge as garnish.

The Bacon, Eggs, and Fries

1/2oz Jack Daniels infused with smoked bacon

1 Egg White

1/2 oz Maple Syrup

Dashes of Lemon Juice

Dash Angostura Bitters

Dry shake all the ingredients without ice to wake up the proteins in the egg white. Then add ice and shake again before pouring the elixir into a martini glass. Garnish with a pancetta crisp!

The Pigged-Out Rum and Coke Float

The Bloody Pig, Mary!

3 oz bacon vodka

6 oz tomato juice

Dash of Worcestershire sauce and lemon juice

Dash of bacon salt

Mix all the ingredients, and serve with a stalk of celery (or slice of bacon).

What is your favourite bacon cocktail?
