The month of March and the dawn of spring is supposed to be a shining hope in the lives of all Montrealers. A time in which the worst has passed, and we only have smooth sailings of light spring winds to ride us into summer.
As per always, Mother Nature likes to toy with our emotions and throw an intense snow storm our faces for no good reason. Fake the frigid bitch out and just get the hell outta here until it finally warms up. Here are 10 hotels you should, or wish you could, visit to beat the shitty weather.
At the northern most tip of the Pemba Island in the Zanzibar Archipelago sits The Manta Resort, a romantic and secluded hotel that boasts one of the best swimming beaches in the world. Gaze upon the sea and forget all of your worries in these piece of floating glory.
Hotel Kakslauttanen, Finland
This place is a legit igloo village. Not only are the igloos adorable, the wild surrounding offer a unique opportunity to experience the wildlife of Finland. Every igloo is also outfitted with glass windows for you to romantically view the Northern Lights from the comfy warmth of your own bed.
Ladera Resort, St. Lucia
It's all about the view at Ladera Resort. Each room is physically built into the hillside, with a missing fourth wall (now you'll never have to break it!) letting you look out and admire vibrant surroundings. Other awesome aspects include an open air bar and a lagoon pool.
Astarte Suits Hotel, Greece
The sexy marble and seaside location make the Astarte Suits Hotel look like an ancient Grecian summer house, or something straight out of Zelda, just without any Zoras. Every room provides vacationers with their own private balcony to enjoy the view of the sea, and every bathroom has a Jacuzzi, which is awesome for many reasons if you catch my drift.
Rayavadee Krabi, Thailand
A killer combo of a full service spa, beachside bar, and stunning natural landscape make this Thai getaway destination the perfect equation for relaxation. All that, and you can dine in a mothertruckin' cave, just like Batman.
Conrad Maldives, Rangali Island
Remember the Little Mermaid song "Under the Sea?" Well you can play that on repeat at Conrad Maldives because they have real-life underwater hotel rooms. Submerged a quarter into the Indian Ocean, you can look upon magnificent sea life without having to even get remotely wet.
Panchoran Retreat, Bali
Built smack dab in the middle of the forest close to Ubad, Indonesia, the Panchoran Retreat is the nature lovers dream. The beauty of nature is the inspiration for the entire grounds, with every room built out of recycled and natural materials and made to be fully integrated with the outdoor environment.
Hotel Ubud Hanging Gardens,Indonesia
Close to famous Indonesian tourist attractions like Jaang, Dalem Segara and Satung, Hotel Ubud Hanging Gardens also has some features of its own that you'll want to check out like a natural bamboo bridge, Batur volcano and the beautiful rice fields.
Dedon Island Resort
I have two words for you as to why you should visit the Dedon Island Resort: swinging daybeds. They're a combination of hammocks and couches, and look like the ultimate nap spot. Enjoy a siesta on the white sand beach and just feel all your worries just melt away.
Äscher Cliff Restaurant, Switzerland
Getting to the Äscher Cliff Restaurant is a legit trek, but incredibly worth it. No other venue gives you as majestic a view of the Swiss Alps, and there's food, which is a double win.

A Bombay spokesperson described the maze as a "large-scale [...] whimsical oasis" with walls that "cloak the discoverable experiences within."
The maze installations are being created by Quebec's Charlie Larouche (Glassware Artist), Jeroen Kleijn (DJ & Olfactory Artist) and Chantal Royer (Botanical Artist) who were inspired by the taste of Bombay Bramble, a new naturally-flavoured raspberry and blackberry gin.
The experience will be completely free, and anyone over the age of 18 can take part.
In addition to a Bombay Bramble sample, guests will leave with a signature Bombay Sapphire Balloon Glass that they can use to stir up fun drinks at home.
