Montreal’s night life in 3 words: vibrant, exciting and electric. If you have people visiting, the list of where you can take them is endless. There is something for every type of imbiber.
Located right in the heart of Old Montreal, it’s a great place to begin the night. At entrance level, there is a large central bar surrounded by elevated lounge areas to one side and some high tables at the other. This is a no-nonsense kind of bar, meaning they specialize in classic cocktails such as the Caesar, but instead of Vodka they use Mescal.Despite being in the Vieux Port, this place is only celebrating one year in business. What’s new? Their terrasse! Could it get more appealing as far as finding a place in one of the nicest spots in Mtl? It’s the only champagne bar in the city and had all the aficionados in a frenzy when it opened. Did we mention they do oysters? Treat your guest to a bit of city class why don’t you?Another gem in the tourist hub of Old Montreal, this spot is particularly great for a ladies night out. Okay fellas can come too. There are live Djs every night – so you got more than one person mixing up your night! This place has really been the talk of the town lately. This massive dance club is set in an 1859 industrial space. There is nothing, however, passé about it. Drink, dance and be merry. Great place to show someone how Montrealers like to party!Club and concert venue. How could you go wrong? It’s been around since 1983 so it’s practically a Montreal heritage site as far as night life is concerned in this city. The club's inner decor includes graffiti covered walls and strange sculptures. If your guest is into underground or alternative styles of music or just wants to try something different… This should be your next destination. Put your punk/alternative cap on!Aah, Montreal’s Plateau area. If you want your guests to get to know the hip and sophisticated scene bring them to this spot. Loungey and ambient music, to upbeat house tracks will serenade you as you sip your sexy cocktails one after the other. The window’s along the street side of the bar open up onto one of the most vibrant streets of the city: St. Laurent.Nothing says it's summer in Montreal more than drinking beers on their huge terrasse. It has 4 floors plus a basement and beer garden out back. There’s karaoke on some nights and a dance floor at the very top. So if you want to make some (embarrassing) memories, this might be a great way to kick off your tourist’s adventure in our city.No trip to this city would be complete without a ride on Chez Serge’s mechanical bull. If our Montreal Canadiens mascot Youppi can have a go, why couldn’t you? Liquid courage, my friends, liquid courage. Definitely a video or picture (or ten) to show off to your friends back home. This bar celebrated 20 years of service last year and they’re still going strong. Crescent is full of bars to bar hop with your out-of-towners, and while this place is far from luxurious it gets the booze flowing – and cheap. They’ve got over 300 cocktail selections. They do one heck of an Old Fashioned. They’ve got a sexy interior that boasts a dark brown and mahogany paint décor, and have long wooden tables and chocolate-hued chairs. A DJ spins a variety of upbeat tunes each night of the week, and Sundays feature different live musicians.

Dreaming of an escape to the Mediterranean or to Tulum in Mexico? All you have to do is head to Griffintown's New City Gas to experience Bazart, a new concept that brings culture, culinary creations and some well-deserved good vibes to Montreal.
I checked out the opening night of the experience and can honestly say it was one of the coolest things I've done in the city.
I must admit, I had never been to New City Gas (I moved here during the pandemic — please forgive me), so I had no idea what to expect. The first thing I thought was, "WOW, this space is so cool!" We walked into the lobby-bar and I was instantly taken by the exposed brick and hanging lights, which created a boho-chic Mykonos-esque aesthetic. Of course, that included a hanging bed.
We stepped inside and walked through the mysterious yet cozy and inviting interior complete with mirrors and candles galore. Before entering the restaurant, we passed through the artisanal marketplace, featuring goods from Meraki, a Laval-based boutique filled with handmade goods and imported treasures from Greece.
Next, we headed into the restaurant, which is so spectacularly done that it feels like one of the most high-end, chic spots on the Island of Montreal but with a totally relaxed and laid-back vibe. Thanks to the decor — complete with hanging baskets, long tables, neutral tones and vibrant greenery — you truly feel like you're in Tulum or in Greece.
We tucked ourselves in for a four-course meal by Chef Massimo Piedimonte of Le Mousso. We were told that the menu was "a tour through the Mediterranean": tapas, a fish course, a meat course, and dessert. Paired with drinks prepared by sommelier Maxime Laliberté of Maison Boulud and mixologist Lawrence Picard of Nectar & Co., I was in absolute heaven.
Between courses, we checked out the open-air gallery outside by S16 and the NFT Gallery by 0x Society, which is actually the first of its kind in Canada. Both of these will be available all summer long.
When the sun went down and the lights came on, the ambiance was even more spectacular. Co-owner Alex K. told me the team was inspired by their travels to places like Tulum and Mykonos, not just for their food and culture, but for the way they exude positive summer vibes. And that's exactly what I got from Bazart from start to finish!
Guys, I have some seriously exciting news to tell you.. Diplo is coming to Montreal this summer! Yup, you heard me right. One of the world's hottest new DJs/producers will be performing right here in Montreal.
If you're not sure who Diplo is, some of his biggest hits are Lean On with Major Lazor and DJ Snake, Where Are You Now with Justin Bieber and Jack U, and Get Free with Amber Coffman.
He'll be performing at the official Osheaga after party at Montreal's New City Gas on Saturday, August 5th! It's going to be a seriously insane show that you definitely won't want to miss.
With 2017 right around the corner, it's time to end 2016 off with a BANG! To do so, why not head out to some places in Montreal where you can eat, drink, and socialise with new people. It's time to party up and make what's left of 2016 great!
It's pretty obvious that a great way to make memories is by indulging in food, drinks, and making new friends. So, I comprised a list of some amazing places where you can enjoy fabulous food, wild drinks, and meet fun people right here in Montreal. Each place is unique in their own way and most are actually supper clubs!
Laika is not your typical night out. Instead of being a restaurant, it is actually a local hangout with coffee, small plates, and Sunday brunches. But, it all turns into a DJ lounge at night. So, if you rather have a chill night out where you can meet low-key people, then Laika is the place for you!
Enjoy a fabulous dinner at Joverse and then watch it transform into one of Montreal's wildest clubs! Their food is absolutely fabulous and I strongly suggest getting some of their famous crab cakes! Afterwards, grab a mojito with your girls and meet different people from the most unique places. You can dance, drink, and eat for the perfect night out with your BFFs and the new friends you will make.
Have a Spanish tapas styled dinner at Santos! Santos offers a nice light meal before the real partying starts after eleven when it turns into a hot AF bar. This is the perfect place for a classy night out while meeting new people who may or may not be from Montreal.
Not only can you get a boozy brunch at SuWu, but you can also enjoy a unique dinner before the shots, shots, shots! They specialize in making cocktails and what they like to call 'gourmet bar bites'! You will definitely have a fabulous night out!
For good food, good drinks, and new people, I recommend going to Pink Flamingo! Not only will you feel classy AF, but you will also enjoy nice champagne and some delectable food! Their french cuisine is fabulous and the atmosphere is elegant enough that you can meet new people who aren't complete wierdos.
Not only does Soubois have the best nightlife in Montreal, but their food is to die for! They offer fresh quality ingredients that come together to make the most delightful dishes. One of their most famous dishes happens to be their duck tartar! So this is definitely the place to be for a wild night that fulfills your food desires, drink desires, and social desires.
For authentic Italian dishes, like their amazing pizza, I recommend checking out Bevo! Not only are they a pizzeria, but they are also a bar! You can drink up and meet as many people as you please while enjoying the class atmosphere.
Suite 701 is honestly a perfect place for a boozy brunch as it is located right in the heart of Montreal! Not only do they have superb food, but they have amazing drinks. They offer a very impressive boozy brunch where you and your BFF can get tipsy at while enjoying some great eats and deep convos. They even have “Option Grande Soif”! A 2 hour open bar add-on option that is completely perfect for a fun night out.
Big In Japan is definitely the place to be if you are looking for a nice candlelit dinner over some hot AF drinks! I strongly recommend Big In Japan if you want to have a fun night but if you would also like to meet new people in an elegant way.
They offer Japanese fusion izakaya that pairs perfectly with their nightlife. After you complete you crazy meal, you can have a wild night since then it turns into a club with a live DJ. Flyjin in is super trendy and a great place to meet new and fun people in Montreal.
Toyo is a classic example of a teppanyaki restaurant! Here, you and a few of your friends can grab a table with some other Montrealer's and enjoy a wild dinner with some drinks. There may not be any dancing but there sure will be some socialization!
If you love some awesome burgers and some even more delicious and larger than life drinks, then I suggest checking out Deville! They have these amazing fish bowl drinks, doughnut balls, salads, burgers, and much more to make your mouths water while you can simultaneously meet new people.
Auberge St-Gabriel is perfect for some refined new French cuisine in a chic and restored historic inn that later turns into a superb club! The stone walls are antique AF but also beautiful. You can party up and meet some great new people!
