10 metro station entrances will be left entirely unattended today draw attention the city's plan to reduce the amount of ticket-taker metro employees, according to the Gazette.

Cutbacks are set to go into effect starting in June, but to make Montrealers fully aware of the issue, the following station entrances will not be overseen by metro attendants:

  • de l’Église (East entrance)
  • Guy Concordia (West entrance)
  • Peel (East entrance)
  • McGill (East entrance)
  • Place des Arts (West entrance)
  • Du Collège (South entrance)
  • Plamondon (North entrance)
  • Place d’Armes (West entrance)
  • Henri-Bourassa( West entrance)

Cutbacks will  "put public safety at risk" according to metro employees, as apparently ticket booth workers have gotten involved in over 170 emergency situations since January.

A traditional protest is planned to be held today at the STM's head office at 800 de la Gauchetière St. W.
