Whoever said there aren't any beaches in Montreal obviously forgot about the Old Port's Clock Tower Beach, which will be your go-to summer chill spot, if it isn't planed to be already.
Opening the end of May (tentatively May 30th, according to representative of the Old Port) the Clock Tower Beach gives you all the awesomeness of sandy summer fun without having to leave the city.
No, you can't swim in the St. Lawrence River, but taking a dip is maybe the least important aspect of chilling at the beach. You'll still be able to indulge in all the best aspects of going to the beach, like sunbathing, volleyball, and having a few (or more) beers/cocktails from the snack bar.
To get you into beach mode, take a look at some past photos of summer fun at the Old Port's Clock Tower Beach.
