Quebec feels like a whole new province during the winter. Suddenly, we're all out doing activities that we totally forgot about during the summer months. And what do we Quebecers like to spend our time doing in the winter? Skating! This is why MTL Blog has decided to make a list of the best skating rinks in Quebec, so you know where to go whenever you feel like gliding away.
Between skating through hidden forests to getting a perfect of a city from its skating rink, this list has everything you need to know about where to partake in one of Quebec's favourite sports.
Some of them are free to go to as long as you have your own skates! And others are totally worth the money it costs to spend a day on the skating rinks.
Almost every spot on this list also has other things to do at them, like snowshoeing or sledding, which means you can guarantee that you'll never get bored. So, grab some friends, some skates and some warm clothes!

Domaine de Maizerets
Price: Free
When: Every day from 8:30a.m. – 4p.m.
Where: 2000 Boulevard Montmorency, Quebec City, QC
Why you should go: The Quebec City neighbourhood of Maizerets makes you feel as though you've walked into the 19th century, so you get to do a little time travelling while skating!
Old Port's Skating Rink
Price: $7.83, or you can get a season pass for $29
When: Monday to Wednesday 10 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Thursday to Sunday 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: 362 Rue de la Commune E, Montreal, QC
Why you should go: You don't need to travel too far to get to spend your day skating. And while you're there, you get a perfect view of the skyline of the Old Port.
Roberval Village On Ice
Price: Free
When: Every day from 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: 1200 Ave Saint-Joseph, Roberval, QC
Why you should go: It's an entire village on ice - how cool?!
Domaine De La Forêt Perdue
Price: $18 per person
When: Wednesday to Saturday 10a.m. – 10p.m.
Sunday to Tuesday 10a.m. – 5p.m.

Why you should go: You get the chance to skate your way through a "lost forest," which isn't something many people around the world get the chance to do.
Parc Des Chutes Dorwin
Price: Free
When: Every day from 10 a.m. – 8p.m.
Where: 3102 1ère Avenue, Route 337, Rawdon, QC
Why you should go: The skating trail is close to the park's 60 ft waterfall, so you can see two beautiful sites in one day - for free!
Skating Rink At Atrium Le 1000
Price: $8.26 per person
When: Wednesday to Saturday 11:30 a.m.– 9 p.m.
Sunday to Tuesday 11a.m. – 6 p.m.
Where: 1000 Rue de la Gauchetière O, Montreal, QC
Why you should go: You get to enjoy all the fun of skating without having to go outside and freeze!
Parc de Glisse du Grand-Héron
Price: $7 for the entire day

Why you should go: This is another great skating rink to visit if you're into going through forests! It's truly a good spot to get away from the city and bond with nature for a while.
Patinoire du Méga Parc

Saturday 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Sunday 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Why you should go: It's attached to a massive amusement park, so you can embrace your inner child the whole time you're there.
Parc John-H. Molson
Price: Free
When: Sunday to Friday 10 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Saturday 8:45 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: Rue Viviane, Saint-Sauveur, QC
Why you should go: You can do more than just skating here! While at Parc John-H. Molson, you can also go through snowshoe trails and ride on a snow slide. Plus since you'll already be in Saint-Sauveur, you can go explore the town afterwards!
Beaver Lake Skating Rink
Price: Free
When: Sunday to Thursday 9 a.m. – 9 p.m.
Friday & Saturday 9 a.m. – 10 p.m.
Where: 2000 Chemin Remembrance
Why you should go: Spending your time at the skating rink near Beaver Lake is something every true Montrealer does in the winter, which means you should too.
