While there are tons of super popular, and awesome, spots to go grab a meal in Montreal, there are some equally amazing - yet lesser-known - restaurants in Montreal. Don't know where to even start looking? Well, friends, I got you.

We told you about this spot earlier this year, even though it was so good that we didn't want to give any secrets away. Well, the secret's out AF now, and it's a good thing it is - legit everyone needs to know about the taco/burrito miracles that come from this Downtown Montreal spot.
Because, honestly, the food here is authentic, fresh, bursting with flavour, and brimming with pure happiness. Their burritos are particularly amazing, filled to the brim with high-quality ingredients and piping hot goodness, but the tacos are a close second. Mexican food loving friends, this one's for you.

Ever go beast on a beyond amazing meal from Lawrence, the well-loved Plateau spot? Well, friends, located right next door to it - and kind of hidden from the hustle and bustle of the Main - is its sister restaurant, Larry's. Although all of Larry's dishes are beyond tasty, the star of the show? Their tartare.
They've got a couple of tartare options, and they're all really tasty and, of course, cooked up using only the freshest and highest quality of ingredients. The best part is that Larry's doubles as a cafe, so you can start your meal off with a well-deserved shot of caffeine.

I'm just going to say that seafood is my whole life, so the fact that we've got a spot in Montreal that serves up fresh lobster rolls literally makes my whole year. If you guys are as obsessed with the king of all seafood as I am, then let me tell you something.
Montreal has one amazing spot to grab a fresh, tasty lobster roll, all using lobsters fresh from Quebec's รles-de-la-Madeleine. Situated in the Old Port, this hidden-in-plain-sight spot serves up amazing food in one of Montreal's most amazing spots. Win-win? You know it.

At this stage in the game, my love for (and obsession with) sushi is a well-documented fact. So you can only imagine how much pure happiness I experienced when I tried Montreal's Saint Sushi and their fresh, unique, incredibly flavourful sushi rolls.
This spot is super hidden on Duluth street. The first time I tried to find it, I walked right passed it - but trust me, do not let that deter you. Get yourself to this spot, and prepare to have your sushi game completely changed, friend.
5. Adamo For Pizza By The Slice

How could by-the-slice pizza revolutionize Montreal's pizza scene? I don't know, friends. All I do know is that everyone who's tried a slice from this pizza spot, situated in St-Henri, says the same thing. This pizza is like a little magical slice of joy, just for you.
What is it that makes the pizza so amazing? Freshness, quality ingredients, and simplicity all meld together to create a meal you won't soon forget. Plus, it hits all points of what former MTLBlog writer Michael D'Alimonte calls the "Pizza Pyramid", a combination of good prices, awesome tastes, and good feels.

There are a lot of ice cream spots out there that get tons of attention - and rightfully so, of course. But there are also some spots in Montreal that are a little bit more lowkey, while still being above and beyond amazing.
The West Island's Twise & Creme is a perfect example of this. The ice cream is fresh, creamy, and sweet, and comes in all your favourite, classic offerings, like banana splits, sundaes, and ice cream dipped in chocolate (!).
7. Local Jerk For Jerk Chicken

It's my opinion that there's no such thing as bad jerk chicken. All jerk chicken is mind-blowingly amazing, but when you have one seriously, incredibly tasty jerk chicken dish? Yeah. It will definitely change your life.
The jerk chicken at Local Jerk is totally of the "change your life" variety, featuring tender and juicy chicken smothered in some seriously fragrant, flavourful jerk spices. And although the jerk chicken is mouthwatering, their other menu items - especially their roti - is definitely worth more than one try.

This spot is kind of secluded on Fleury Street, and if you don't know what you're looking for, it can be a little difficult to spot. Luckily, you know exactly what you're looking for. You're looking for some of the best banh mi sandwiches in the city, friend, and you're about to find it right here.
Chez Hoang serves up one incredibly legit banh mi sandwich, with super fresh and awesome bread, moist meats, and super tasty veggies. Bonus points for their beyond awesome soup, too, which in and of itself is totally worth the trek.
9. Chez Ma Tante For Steamies

Would you believe me if I told you that some of the best steamies in Montreal were served up in a tiny hidden gem on Fleury Street, near Montreal-North? Well, friends, you should. Because the steamies at Chez Ma Tante are above and beyond amazing.
These things are juicy and huge, stuffed into a soft, steamed hot dog bun and piled high with all the best steamie toppings. For extra good vibes, try their poutine, beautifully simple and incredibly satisfying.

Okay, food fans, prepare for a dining experience unlike any other. Nozy, located in St-Henri, serves up some deliciously fresh Japanese food, promising flavourful delights all year round.
Their menu changes seasonally, but that doesn't matter. All of their dishes are gorgeously plated, made using the highest calibre of ingredients, and used to create the tastiest of meals. Their sashimi in particular, though, is awesome - buttery, chewy, and fresh, anyone who loves sashimi will absolutely fall in love with Nozy.
11. Panini Da Marco For Sandwiches

Literally, you haven't had a panino until you've had a panino from St. Leo's Panini Da Marco. These delightful sandwiches have it all: fresh bread, tasty meats, vibrant veggies, and savoury cheeses, all of this grilled to perfection.
Although everything here is a serious party for your tastebuds, my personal favourite panino is the "Frankyโs Favourite", with steak, pepperoni, onion, mayo, and mozarella. Beyond tasty, guys. Trust me on this.
