Instead of going on tropical destinations and wasting all your money on boring planned resorts, why not relax in a super cute small town just a few hours away from Montreal?! These road trips are to some of the most adorable small towns probably in the world!

The cute small towns are either on the water, have cute boutiques, or are just surrounded by some of Canada's most gorgeous natural sites! So, instead of getting on a plan this summer, get in a car and road trip down to explore your own province.

1. La Malbaie

For nature, romance, and luxury all in one, I suggest heading out to La Malbaie in Quebec. This little town is located right near the Camping Des Chutes Fraiser and the peaceful Jardins de Quatre-Vents. They have boutiques, boulangeries, chalets, golf clubs, and beautiful views right on the water. Plus, this road trip is only 4 hours!

2. Tadoussac

If you love whale watching, then take a short 5 hour drive to Tadoussac! Not only can you go see some lovely marine life, but you can also explore the nature around it. You can escape the city and relax for an A1 road trop with your BFFs.


This adorable small town is only a five hour drive away from Montreal and trust me, it is 514% worth it! You can escape the city and enjoy a nice time on the water with some of your friends. It is pure serenity!

4. Gaspé

For a simple and stunning 10 hour road trip to take with your BFF, I strongly recommend checking out l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé. It’s easy to get to and super cheap! These rocks are Quebec’s trade mark and the area around them contains great activities for you and your BFF to have a great weekend getaway.

1. Baie-Saint-Paul

For a simple 3 hour road trip, I suggest checking out Baie-Saint-Paul! This is a great place to go to with you BFF or sister since you can shop at all the cute boutiques that we don't have in Montreal or really anywhere else. It's actually most famous for being the birthplace of Cirque du Soleil!

2. Saint-Sauveur

This hour road trip is 514% worth it for a sweet weekend! You can shop at their adorable boutiques and even enjoy the nature around the city area. The Laurentian mountains are absolutely stunning and I assure that you will have a blast.

3. Sainte-Adèle

Sainte-Adèle is known for it's cute boutiques and especially their nature spas such as Auberge et Spa Beaux Rêves! You can shop 'til you drop and discover their hidden waterfall!

1. Stanstead​​​​​​​

Stanstead​​​​​​​ has to be my favorite small town on this list! Not only is it only an hour and a half away from Montreal, but it is also home to Bleu Lavande! You can explore the gorgeous lavender fields or take your own nature walk.

2. Chicoutimi​​​​​​​

Chicoutimi​​​​​​​ literally looks like it came out of a fairytale! There are a variety or nature beauties and great castles/churches. They've got nature walks, sightseeing tours, hiking paths, and much, much more like museums! You will have a stunning relaxing time plus it is merely five hours away.

3. Havre-Aubert​​​​​​​

Havre-Aubert​​​​​​​ is a road trip to take if you absolutely love long drives considering that it is 20 hours away from Montreal. Now that might seem SO far, but it is SO worth it! This Quebec island is surrounded by beauty and even an aquarium, art exhibitions, and much more.

4. Kamouraska​​​​​​​

If you are willing to drive only 4 hours away from Montreal and you just love thrilling adventures, then I really recommend checking out Kamouraska​​​​​​​. It literally has it all! From cute boutiques to being surrounded by nature you will definitely have a fab time. You can go see their gorgeous piers, historical sights, try kayaking adventures, and see museums! My favorite aspect of Kamouraska​​​​​​​ is their ziplining between cliffs.

5. Magog

You absolutely must come to the small town of Magog with your family or friends! They are most famous for the Lake Memphremagog where you can see the Québécois Nessie and go to cute boutiques while enjoying fun activities like kayaking or nature walks. Another plus is that it is only 1 hour away!
