For all of us active individuals summertime means fun outdoor activities! That usually includes activities that give us a way to get outside and be active but also give us the best views of the nature around us.

But sometimes, we want to get that amazing view but by putting the least amount of physical effort possible into it. I can really relate to that this summer. I want to get out there and explore all the amazing hiking trails, lakes, and waterfalls but I'm also pretty lazy.

So, what could be better than finding super short and easy hiking trails for lazy people like me that also have the most spectacular views! It will feel like you hiking for five hours when you really hiking for one or two.

Hikes Just An Hour Away 🍃 

1. Mont Saint Bruno 

Distance From Montreal: 42 mins

Trail Length: there is 25 km worth of hiking trails in this national park, with short options from 1-3.5 km. Take Grand Duc Trail for an intermediate hike.

Views: multiple lakes and lush forests

2. La Prucheraie Trail 

Distance From Montreal: one hour, three mins

Trail Length: this trail spans a short distance of 1.4 km and takes about 30 mins to complete.

Views: from the Observation Deck you can see wildlife, forests and open fields

3. Parc Regional Des Sept Chutes

Distance From Montreal: one hour, 27 mins

Trail Length: choose from multiple hiking trails ranging from two hours to five hours long. All trails range from beginner to intermediate level.

Views: views the expansive forest from above and spot cute lakes and seven waterfalls along the way.

4. Mont Orford

Distance From Montreal: one hour, 25 mins

Trail Length: 80 km worth of hiking trails all labelled from easy to difficult for your convenience.

Views: hike up these wooden steps to the top of Mont Orford and get breathtaking views of the rivers and forest below.

5. Mont Tremblant National Park

Distance From Montreal: one hour, 49 mins

Trail Length: trails of all difficulty levels in each of the three sectors of the park, La Diable, La Pimbina and L'Assomption.

Views: stunning lakes, expansive forests, all kinds of wildlife

6. Vallée Bras-du-Nord

Distance From Montreal: two hours, 45 mins

Trail Length: enjoy 80 km worth of trails all ranging from easy to expert. Their shortest trail is Sentier du Castor, 6.9 km in length and takes anywhere from one hour to three hours to complete.

Views: tons of viewpoints along each trail with views of flowing rivers, mountains, cliffs, and waterfalls.

7. Parc de la Gorge

Distance From Montreal: two hours

Trail Length: this park offers multiple different hiking trails ranging from easy to intermediate. The hikes should all take you around two hours to complete.

Views: suspension bridges, waterfalls, flowing rivers, enchanted forest

8. Moss Glen Falls Trail, Vermont

Distance From Montreal: two hours, 26 mins

Trail Length: this trail is 2.9 miles in length and will take hikers to an altitude of 337 feet. This trail is for all levels of hiker.

Views: flowing waterfall and lush forest views

9. Sterling Pond Trail, Vermont

Distance From Montreal: Two hours, six mins

Trail Length: only 2.4 miles long this trail is super easy for beginner hikers. It should take around 1-1.5 hours to complete.

Views: once you reach the top you'll be rewarded by this refreshing pond at the top of the mountain! Continue to the lookout to get amazing views of the mountain and forests below.

10. Mont Sainte Anne 

Distance From Montreal: three hours, 14 mins

Trail Length: enjoy 42 km worth of hiking trails all ranging in size and length. All hikers from beginner to expert level can enjoy these trails.

Views: hike past waterfalls, mountain summits, views of the St. Lawrence River.

11. Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area

Distance From Montreal: Three hours, 16 mins

Trail Length: there is 20 km worth of trails in this wildlife area, with options for short or long hikes.

Views: 320 species of birds, rivers, spacious fields

12. Wolf Trail

Distance From Montreal: Two hours, 40 mins

Trail Length: this moderate level trail should take hikers around three hours to complete. It's a 5 km hike through Gatineau Park.

Views: rocky mountains, lush forests, Ottawa river valley

13. Mount Morne

Distance From Montreal: Three hours, 24 mins

Trail Length: there's two trails on Mount Morne, both around 1.2 km, leading to the summit of the mountain.

Views: 360 degree panoramic views of the mountain summit from the observation tower, Lac Drolet views, lush forests.
