Most of us do our best to be good, law-abiding citizens. Staying within our legal limits and respecting the laws in our province, and country, even if sometimes we may not totally agree with it.

Like most places, Quebec has a few laws that are a bit outdated which makes them quite a bit more ridiculous to be following in 2018, some laws seeming more like a joke than actually protecting the public from any harm. But there are also some interesting (read: stupid) laws that weren't created all that long ago. The truth is, you probably didn't even know most of these existed, and I bet that you have probably broken the law a few times and didn't even realize. 

1. It's illegal to swear in French
