This list is designed to help you enjoy Montreal's summer'16 without putting a dent in your bank account. These cheap bars provide great service and superb drinks that range from a variety of beers to hard liquor. If you enjoy going out during the week to down town Montreal, than Winnie's is the place for you! It's location is perfect and it's prices are even better! They have great specials like on Tuesdays where they have 2$ shots! It's a great place to get drunk on a budget this summer with your friends since it is always bumping.

They describe themselves as a hipster cafe and I could not agree more. I was actually just here at Casa Del Popolo yesterday to enjoy some live music. They have a great atmosphere and really cheap drinks that everyone can enjoy. They have two rooms; a cafe lounge area and a bar! It is gorgeous and super chill.

Montreal's Controversial REM de l'Est Got Roasted By The Regional Transit Agency

The ARTM says the light-rail network wouldn't meet the needs of most East End Montrealers.

The Autorité régionale de transport métropolitain (ARTM) has released their official opinion about the REM de l'Est. They say the light-rail network wouldn't attract enough users to be worth the initial cost of building it, let alone the costs to maintain it.

The first reason cited for their decision was that the new rail wouldn't adequately meet the needs of the communities of Montreal's East End. The REM de l'Est would link Montréal-Nord and Pointe-aux-Trembles to the centre of the city via two branches that would converge in Mercier–Hochelaga-Maisonneuve and then run roughly parallel to the STM's green line to boulevard Robert-Bourassa.

Montreal's Blue Dog Bar Says It Got An OQLF Letter About Its English Posts On Facebook

"It is against the law to publish a business publication that is not in French," the letter read.

Although bars and restaurant dining halls in Quebec have been closed for some time now, that hasn't stopped the Office québécois de la langue française (OQLF) from reaching out to local spots when complaints are received about French-language matters regarding their business.

As if times weren't already tough enough for Montreal's Blue Dog Motel, the owners shared on social publications that they recently received a notice from the OQLF about the bar's use of English in its Facebook posts.
