A city can change a lot in 30 years, and these photos of New York City pretty much prove it. NYC lost layers of grime and shook off some grit since then, for better or worse.
New York Up & Down by Frank Horvat gives us a glimpse into the urban setting of NYC in the 80s, which is very different from the New York of today. Shot between 1982 to 1986, Horvat's photos don't glamorize New York and instead show the seedy glory of the 1980s city.
