15 Christmas Markets And Events To Hit Up In Montreal This Holiday Season

The holiday season is upon us, at least on Montreal terms. We definitely have a soft spot for the holidays in this city because our market scene is already thriving.
I have compiled a list of 15 holiday markets and events that you need to check out this season. There is definitely a market for everyone on this list, from traditionalists, to local-art-lovers, and even yogis! Check it out.

It is pretty clear that there is no shortage in variety when it comes to the Holidays in Montreal. We are lucky to live in a city with so much culture and diversity. November 17th - 25th
Montreal's Official Santa Parade
This is the perfect excuse to gather up your friends, grab some hot cocoa and sit back and enjoy the holiday magic. Besides the man himself, the parade will also feature Christmas ferries, other holiday characters, music, dancing and more.

Montreal's Alley Christmas Market
This Christmas Market hosted by The Pepin Shop is truly unique and brings together a fusion of Old Montreal's undeniable charm and the holiday spirit in one pretty festive package.

Marché Nënë
This is the most "kid friendly" event on the list, so if you have little ones in your life who want to get involved in the holiday festivities, this is the one for you. Admission is free, and you can spend the day browsing the selection of clothing, accessories and toys.

Holiday Aboriginal Artisan Fair
This event is being hosted by Concordia University, and it aims at supporting the Aboriginal community in Montreal. Proceeds and donations at this event will be going towards creating winter care packages to be donated to Aboriginal shelters in Montreal. This is the perfect event to grab some unique gifts and to give back to the community at the same time.

If you're looking for a unique twist on the traditional holiday market, this one is for you. Centre Afrika is hosting their 5th African Christmas Market. The market will feature holiday crafts and goods infused with African flare. Come out and support local African artists and entrepreneurs, and be transported into the beautiful African culture.

Marché Éphémère EtsyMTL
This one day pop-up shop is being hosted by The Collectif Créatif Etsy Montreal. This is also the first time for this event, but it is promising to be a great event to kick off your holiday shopping! With plenty of variety of artisan crafts and unique gifts, you can definitely find something special for everyone on your list here.

Sustainable Holiday Artisan Market
This market is definitely a unique one on our list. It will feature sustainable goods like jams, fair trade items, handmade ceramics and more. It is also taking place in the Concordia Greenhouse, which is a pretty cool location in itself. This is the perfect stop to shop for a gift for the environmentally conscious people in your life, or to grab some cool items for yourself this season.

Le Petit Marche de Noel
This little market is bound to be a hit with anyone. It features decorations, beauty products, food, children's items and plenty more. This is the first edition of this market, so we don't have any photos of the event for you, but we're sure it's going to be absolutely adorable and full of holiday charm.

Place des Arts Winter Wonderland Playground
This is the eighth time that we will be seeing an installation like this in Montreal thanks to Quartier des Spectacles. This year's installation is called "Impulse" and it involves a series of different sized seesaws that light up and play music while they are being used.

Village de Noël de Montréal
Atwater Market is being transformed into a "Christmas Village" that you definitely won't want to miss! There will be plenty of free activities going on throughout the event like face painting, musical shows and even holiday movies being streamed for everyone to enjoy!
