With the summer weather already here, why not try something new with your friends! Instead of going clubbing or throwing a house party, why not go... Camping! Some of the best campgrounds are located just three hours away from Montreal and I guarantee that you'll have a great time.
Camping may not be everyone's style but for a weekend get away with your good friends you won't want to miss out! These campgrounds aren't your typical camping sites where you just set up at tent. They have way more fun activities for you and your friends.
So grab that bug spray and sleeping bag, practice your fire making skills, and get ready for a wild weekend that you won't forget!
1. Gatineau Park
Gatineau Park is ALWAYS open! So if you like it that much, you can always check it out again in the winter. The park is absolutely beautiful and huge. It's just 15 minutes from downtown Ottawa–Gatineau but you wouldn't even know with all the nature surrounding you.
They have a variety of summer activities! You and your friends can go boating, cycling, mountain biking, dog walking, fishing, horseback riding, picnicking, rock climbing and of course swimming! Their summer camping season has already begun and lasts until October 9, 2016.
So pack your car with your tent, camera, and your best friends for a great road trip to Gatineau Park!
2. Parc National De La Jacques Cartier
If you are into mountains and valleys, then you and your friends should definitely check out Parc National De La Jacques Cartier. It's located just 30 minutes away from Quebec city and is labelled as hosting the best valleys in all of Quebec!
They offer great outdoors activities! They have hiking, kayaking, fishing, rafting, tubing, geaocaching, paddle boarding, canoeing, mountain biking, and my personal favourite star gazing. Their summer camping season has also already begun and also lasts until mid October.
3. La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve
If you and your friends love swimming, then you guys should for sure hit up La Vérendrye Wildlife Reserve! They have over 4,000 lakes and even islands where you can set up camp.
They have boating hiking, canoeing, kayaking, berry picking, fishing, bear hunting, moose hunting, deer hunting, and swimming! So if you and your friends are interested in some great bonding time over some swimming and hunting this is the place to be.
4. Parc National Du Mont-Tremblant
The closest campground to most of us if certainly Park National Du Mont-Tremblant since its only 2 hours away. It is said it be "a canoer's paradise" according to their webiste since it is surrounded by 6 great rivers and around 400 lakes and streams.
You can explore the back country side, go swimming, canoeing, kayaking, biking, fishing, pedal boating, wildlife watching, paddle boarding, hiking, cycling, and they have great camp fire locations where you and your frineds can sit down and crack open a beer.
So get ready for that road trip with some of your best friends! You guys will make some great memories while admiring what mother nature has to offer.
5. Camping Aventure Mégantic
Camping Aventure Megantic is a brand new camp site! They offer swimming pools, water slides, and great nature tours. It is located just 5 km from downtown and 1 km from the golf course. They officially have 139 camping sites that are ready for you and your friends to break in with some beer and BBQs.
6. Camping Baie-des-Sables
Another great camp site is the Complexe Baie-des-Sables. They have over 3oo sites with great beach areas, aerial tree-to-tree adventure, water sports center, outdoor recreational centre with rust camping, sailing school, entertainment and events.
So if you are more interested in organized activities you and your friends should check out Complexe Baie-des-Sables! I mean who knows maybe you could organize a beer pong tournament!
7. Camping Domaine Du Lac Libby
If you aren't that into camping since you find it gross and dirty then I suggest trying Camping Domaine du Lac Libby! It's not that all the other ones are dirty, it's just that there are less luxuries. Instead, Camping Domaine du Lac Libby has snack bars, small convenience stores, beaches, pedal boats, canoes, individual toilets, and 62 acres of nature and cleanliness.
8. Camping Saint-Alphonse
Be a kid again and check out Camping Saint-Alphonse! They have a depanneur that sells wine and beer, a private beach, volleyball courts, soccer fields, basketball courts and many more. So get your sport shoes on and sing those camp fire songs.
9. Camping Du Pont Couvert
At Camping du Pont Couvert, their sites mix together the rustic sensation of nature with modern facilities. They have breathtaking views with a great river and great activities for you and all your friends! So be sure to check them out!
10. Camping Écologique de Frelighsburg
Another valley location is Camping Écologique de Frelighsburg! They have great pools and green areas that great for relaxation. Most of the sites are located just on the river and they have fabulous hiking trails. So start relaxing with your good friends after a stressful school semester.
11. Camping Havre Des Iles
Camping Havre des Iles is 80 acres of majestic landscape. You and your friends will see great islands, lakes, rivers, and waterfalls. You can party it up here while enjoying a secluded walk on one of their islands.
12. Camping Huttopia Sutton
The Sutton sites have modern tents designed for comfort and a great wilderness experience. The sites are located right on the sides of mountains as they over look the valleys bellow. It's a great place to gaze at the stars and to enjoy a drunken camp fire with your friends.
13. Camping Piopolis
If you are searching for a great view of the Appalachian Mountains, then Piopolis campground is the place to be. Here, you and your friends can enjoy the scenery and the beautiful sunrise. You can go kayaking, hiking, cycling, and much more! So put that gas in your car and get ready for summer fun!
14. Camping Parc National Du Mont-Orford Lac Stukely
Get a great view of some gorgeous maple trees at Parc National Du Mont-Orford Lac Stukely! It's a great place to go with a big group of friends. There is swimming, biking, canoeing, kayaking, pedal boating, row boating, rock climbing, paddle boarding, and just admiring the nature.
15. Camping Parc National De Frontenac, Baie Sauvage
Parc national de Frontenac is located on the shores of Grand lac Saint-François. There are multiple boating activities as well as hiking and cycling. The environment is filled with a diversity of plants and animals that you and your friends won't miss out on.
