When you were a kid, your parents, your teachers and your friends all taught you valuable life lessons.

A lot of the thing we are told growing up are complete bullshit, and the older you get the more your start to realize it.

These are the truths which we all know and think about, yet no one ever wants to admit them out loud.

Maybe we're in denial, maybe we don't want to come off as intolerant or offensive. But whatever the reason, we can't ignore these truths forever.

1. Most Of Us Aren't Special. Many Of Us Aren't Even Above Average

Actually many of us aren't even above average. So Barney the dinosaur lied to us.

2. Being Hot Makes Life Easier

Some people are born attractive and/or into wealthy families and will have a substantially easier-than-average life for no other reason than winning what's essentially a genetic lottery.

4. You Will Become old...If You Are Lucky

I love this one because it's way too real! Nothing summarizes the feeling it invokes better than the reply: Everyone wants to GET old, nobody wants to BE old.

5. Life Is Evil

Life really doesn't give a shit about you and anything terrible could happen on any random day. No matter how good of a person you are. You can do everything right, be a great brother, friend, lover, writer and coworker. You can focus on making a difference and pursuing knowledge. Then a deer runs out in front of your car. You hit semitruck and 5 days later you die on your gf's birthday.

6. Trying Your Best Isn't Good Enough.

It is possible to do your best, make no mistakes, and still lose.

7. Looks Matter

No one wants to admit it, but we all know it's true.
