And what better way to catch up with all your girlfriends than to plan a weekend getaway? Some of the getaways will take you far away from the city and into Quebec's beautiful natural parks, while others are an oasis in the heart of the city.

This eco-tourism destination offers something rarely seen in the province: rooms that, like hobit houses, are located underground. You can rent the "Hobbit" lodge for about $155 a night. The room, which houses 4 people, comes with a dining area, a kitchenette and bedroom with double bunk beds. This magical forest in Coaticook is perfect for a nightime stroll. The trees are strung with beautiful lights and the décor is inspired by old Quebec folk tales. Walk through the 2km path to discover this spectacle of light in an enchanted forest. The highlight of the visit is definitely the illuminated suspension bridge — the longest in Quebec!

Located just outside Quebec City, the Montmorency falls are a great stop on your way to or from our province's capital. The waterfall is seriously beautiful, and there are a ton of great hiking trails all around the falls. It's absolutely free to go. There is a bridge that goes right over the waterfall, so you can be awed up-close by nature's beauty. Oh, and for those of you who love a good adrenaline rush, you can even zipline accross the falls.

Go To A Serene Spa In Saint-Sauveur

Drive time: 1 hr.

Address: Polar Bear's Club, 930 Boulevard des Laurentides, Piedmont.

The Polar Bear's Club is a beautiful and serene spa located in the mountains of Saint-Sauveur. The spa offers a traditional nordic bath experience (which is to say a circuit through a spa, a sauna and a cold pool) as well as massages, outdoor hot tubs and much more.

This festival highlights the beauty of hot air balloons, but it is so much more than that. There will be concerts, silent discos, yoga, light exhibits and so much more. Definitely worth spending a day or two.
