25 Bucket List Restaurants To Try Downtown Montreal, Le Plateau, Mile End, Old Port, & Griffintown

OK, so I have this conversation with my friends EVERY week. Whenever we want to go out and have a nice meal together, we always have this problem of finding somewhere to go depending on how far we want to travel. Are we in the mood to stay Down Town or venture to the Mile End? Then the question arises umm.... What restaurant do we go to in that area?

Well, not to worry! To help us all out I have composed this list of A1 restaurants that are located in four of Montreal's most popular burrows! So, choose your location and text your BFF for your next date night.

1. L'Gros Luxe
Multiple locations – 100% VÉGÉ – MILE END – VIEUX-LONGUEUIL – SUD-OUEST – DELUXE
L’Gros Luxe never disappoints! Not only can you order several dishes and expect nothing less than heaven on a plate, but you won't break the bank for this year's anniversary! Their menu is fairly cheap so you can impress your date by telling them to order as many things as they like! You can definitely expect the bill to be under $50.
2. Larry's
Larry's is great for those tapa lovers! They have great dishes that you and your BFF can share. Plus, they have the most delightful beef tartar. It's a great place to sit back and relax.
3. Jun I
Now this is the place you want to be for some A1 sushi! Jun I specializes in sophisticated sushi & sashimi, inspired French-influenced mains & fine sakes all while surrounded by a classy ambiance.
4. Faros Restaurant
Faros has a cosy ambiance with great cocktails and amazing Greek dishes. They specialize in seafood and fresh fruit platters. This restaurant is especially adorable since it is covered in blue!
5. Le Petite Maison
Le Petite Maison has to be one of the most romantic restaurants you can find in the Mile End. It is covered with stone walls and flowers plus, the food here is also unreal!

For some delicious seafood options – such as platters, shrimp, oysters, lobsters, crabs, and scallop, I suggest checking out Maestro S.V.P. It is the perfect location where you and your special someone can dress up and enjoy some lovely seafood. It really is a great anniversary spot!
2. Arepera Du Plateau
This restaurant specializes in South American delights! It's a perfect place for one of those spontaneous date nights. They offer something for Meat lovers, Vegans,Vegetarians,and they even have Gluten free dishes!
3. Big in Japan
Big in Japan will legit make you feel like you are on top of the world. Not only s their food amazing, but their ambiance is A1! They have beautiful decor and I swear you will have a blast.
4. Harbin Dumplings
Harbin Dumplings is a truly charming little restaurant in the Plateau. Their dumplings are bursting with flavors and this cozy restaurant is perfect for a small anniversary celebration with that special someone.
5. Aux Vivres
Aux Vivres is that perfect restaurant for that health fanatic couple. They feature vegan “cheesecakes”, “chilli”, and “hamburgers”. Not only is their food super healthy but also crazy delicious. It is a great location for a try something new anniversary.

1.LOV
LOV is a great location for a hip anniversary celebration! If you happen to be one of those vegan couples, then this restaurant is great on a casual day! They are an organic restaurant that places an emphasis on locally grown, wholesome ingredients, plus delicious vegan dishes like poutine and brunch!
2. Crudessence
This vegan cafe has sealed the deal on stealing my heart! They offer raw/organic/gluten-free dishes and a great museum like ambiance with stunning art pieces. I guarantee that this will become one of your favorite spots in Montreal.
3. Kampai
For a great anniversary dinner, I suggest checking out Kampai! Their Japanese garden beer paired with superb dishes will blow your mind! It's a great place for a dinner date and also a night out with drinks since it turns into a hip bar/club after dinner service to make your anniversary 514% better!
4. Jatoba
For some delicious white wine and some fabulous food as you eat under the lights and in a garden, I recommend looking into Jatoba. Jatoba is a gorgeous garden terrasse where you can enjoy inspired classic Japanese and Chinese dishes made by their chef, Olivier Vigneault. It's more on the pricey side so make it worth your while!
5. La Habanera
Alright, for a 514% lowkey night, you guys really need to check out this Cuban restaurant in downtown Montreal. The food is BOMB, the decor has a modern twist, and their drinks are pretty insane!

1. Nini Meatball House
Nini Meatball House is the absolute most adorable restaurant for your anniversary this year! The decor it subtle and the food is absolutely amazing. Of course they are most known for their mouth watering meatballs and Mac and Cheese balls!
2. HVOR
HVOR is one of Montreal’s best-rated restaurants! Not only is the food amazing, but it is stunning and it is the perfect location for "the one" to enjoy some gourmet food. The ambience is very modern and classy so it’s a great location to make the final move in your relationship and celebrate an extra special anniversary.
3. Grinder
Everyone knows Grinder is THE spot for anniversary dates. Grinder has got a great mood any and every night of the week. The food is superb and you will fall more in love with your special someone.
4. Restaurant ZIBO! Griffintown
If you and your BFF are looking for a casual restaurant in Griffintown then I suggest checking out ZIBO! Their have superb cocktails that pair nicely with their delicious dishes.
5. Le Richmond
If you love that vintage but modern feel to a restaurant, then Le Richmond is the place to be! They specialize in northern Italian dining that will have your heart melting.

1. Bevo
For pizza right out of the wooden oven that will make you feel like you are in Italy, you need to take your date out to Bevo in Old Montreal. Not only is the location beautiful, but the food is delicious and the melted cheese will make your girl's heart melt even more!
2. Venice Mtl
Feel like you stepped right off the metro and into Venice beach with your date when you enter Venice MTL! Their food is fresh and delicious for a crazy anniversary that neither of you will forget.
3. Terrasse Place D'armes

If you love skylines and delicious (but a bit $$$) food on a hot summer night or cool spring evenining, then Terrasse Place D'armes is the perfect place for you! This restaurant is lowkey in the sense that it's a rooftop terrasse, great drinks, and amazing food!
4. Terrasse Nelligan
My personal favorite terrasse happens to be Terrasse Nelligan located in the heart of Old Montreal. It is absolutely stunning! The views are amazing considering that the Basilica is your view from one side and the water front is your view from the other side. They have amazing fish tacos and it is truly great for an anniversary this summer.
5. Le Club Chasse et Pêche
For a truly fantastic anniversary where you spend a couple of bills, I recommend looking into Le Club Chasse et Pêche! They are most known for their superbbraised piglet risotto with foie gras, an appetizer that will impress your special someone. They are also known for their roasted duck (served with sour cherries in a balsamic sauce) and the “The Bomb" desert, (a caramel-chocolate tart with 80& chocolate sorbet).
