25 Hollywood Celebrities You Can Spot In Montreal This Summer

Montreal has gained quite the reputation lately as a haven for the film industry. There are 3 reasons for this boom: tax breaks, an amazing looking city that is cinematically diverse, and the fact that celebrities just love Montreal culture. Okay, so I have no data to back that 3rd fact up, but any celebrity who doesn't love Montreal just hasn't realized it yet. Speaking of which, there are a ton of celebrities that are spending time in Montreal this summer - more than in the last 20+ years!

So here is a list of 25 celebrities you can expect to spot in Montreal this summer:

1. Dave Chappelle

That's right, Dave Chappelle the legendary comedian is coming to town for Just For Laughs. Don't miss out because you never know when he'll decided to retire again.

2. Channing Tatum

He will be in town filming X-Men: Apocalypse and also he will be spreading his general awesomeness around town.

3. Mike Myers

The legend himself who never disappoints is coming to town. Okay so The Love Guru sucked but he almost never disappoints.

U2 has 4 different concert dates in Montreal this summer so Bono will be in town along with The Edge and um ... uuuuuh ... those 2 other guys.

6. Kevin Hart

You'd think Kevin Hart would be too busy filming one of the 39 movies he's been cast in yesterday but somehow he managed to find the time to come to Montreal for Just For Laughs.

7. Neil Patrick Harris

No childhood was complete without the classic song parodies of Weird Al. Sometimes I can't remeber the words to the original songs so I just sing his versions instead.

10. T.J. Miller

An extremely underrated comedian, you might know him from HBO's Silicon Valley which airs immediately after Game of Thrones.

11. Reggie Watts

Reggie is an unusual man, you either love him or you hate him. It's difficult to figure out if Reggie is a genius or just insane. One the one hand he's clearly nutty but he also gives TED talks so it's up for debate.

12. J.B. Smoove

Not sure what it is about JB Smoove but he's every where. Like everywhere! He's outside my window right now and he was the rabbi at my nephew's Bar Mitzva.

13. Michael Fassbender

No X-Men movie would be complete without Magneto.

2021 Was Montreal's Hottest Year On Record

Here's what's in store for the first few months of 2022.

It's official — 2021 was the hottest year on record for Montreal, according to Environment Canada. It beat out the previous hottest years, 1998 and 2012, by a mean few hundredths of a degree.

This rise in temperature in Montreal is attributed to new weather patterns, causing scorching temperatures in June, August, September and October. "August and October were record-breaking months," said Environment Canada spokesperson Simon Legault.

Of all the things you'd expect to find as you walk along Boulevard Saint-Laurent, a 7-foot-tall, gin-inspired hedge maze probably isn't one of them. But from August 6 to 8, Bombay Sapphire is building a labyrinth full of surprises in the Old Port — and, yes, that does include free gin samples for Quebecers aged 18 and up.

A Bombay spokesperson described the maze as a "large-scale [...] whimsical oasis" with walls that "cloak the discoverable experiences within."
