Down below is a list that composes of great activities you can do this month and you guessed it, it's all FREE! It's officially the beginning of fall  and the crisp October air is among us. So, let's enjoy the festivities in Montreal that are well underway to help us fall start on the right foot this October!

Let's start to celebrate October by enjoying all the insane things you can do for free whether it be an event, festival, show or whatever floats your boat! It's time to get on that Halloween grind.

If you love music, then I suggest check out the Off Jazz Festival! They offer free shows from 5-7pm this October 5th to October 16th with some chill vibes for everyone to enjoy.

But, if you love cheese more than music, then I suggest going to Montreal's Cheese Festival! On October 5th and October 12th you can go to the C'est Cheese Festival and enjoy reamy Mac n' Cheese, ooey gooey grilled cheese, and melty pizzas!

Oh course, who could forget First Fridays, the largest street food festival in ALL of Canada! This month it will be taking place October 6th.

It's official, folks — we've seen the worst of Omicron. Hospitalizations and deaths around the province have been in steady decline for the last few weeks and health officials are easing up on restrictions. On February 23, Dr. Mylène Drouin elaborated on what "living with the virus" is going to actually look like in the coming months.

First, there will be a lifting of certain health measures, such as the wearing of masks in elementary schools and in the workplace. While the decision to lift these measures has already been met with pushback, Drouin, Regional Director of Public Health, says that existing tools are sufficient for handling the current situation.

Flair Airlines Is Having A Flash Sale With Up To 75% Off Base Fares To & From Vancouver

Pack your suitcase and dust off your passport. Flair Airlines is having a flash sale, slashing as much as 75% off the base price for flights going to and from Vancouver between February 27 to April 30.

As of the time of writing, an April 6 flight from Toronto to Vancouver, for example, is as low as $48.72 (not counting fees or costs for add-ons like extra baggage). Ottawa to Vancouver on March 27 is even cheaper, at $50.45. A March 28 flight from Montreal to Vancouver is slightly more expensive, but still quite affordable, at $189.

Anglophone Quebecers Have Higher Unemployment And Earn Less Than Francophones

The figures challenge the myth of a "wealthy and homogenous" English community in Quebec, according to a new report.

A report from the Provincial Employment Roundtable (PERT) released on February 17 shows the unemployment rate for anglophone Quebecers (8.9%) is 2% higher than it is for francophones (6.9%), while the provincial average is 7.2%.

Anglophones have higher jobless rates in 15 of the province's 17 administrative regions, it found, especially in the Capitale Nationale, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, and in Côte-Nord — where their unemployment rate is a whopping 25.5%.
