$60 Million Plan To Change The Game In Montreal's Luxury Retail Market

This morning, one of Montreal's most luxurious retail stores, Holt Renfrew & Co. unveiled major plans to expand its store by transforming St. Catherine's Ogilvy outlet into a massive and exclusive upscale retail domain. The new space will be branded as: Ogilvy, part of the Holt Renfrew & Co. collection.

In its merger, the new shopping destination will cover 220,000 square feet, and plans for the revamp will follow a $60 million investment. The brand new luxury retail spot will be unveiled and completed in late 2017.

"The Montreal market presents a unique opportunity to leverage two storied brands," explained Holt Renfrew's President, Mark Derbyshire. "Inspired by the best of both Holt Renfrew and Ogilvy, and based on extensive customer research, we have developed a grand vision with bold new concepts that celebrate Montreal's rich fashion heritage and sophisticated shoppers."

Senior Vice President of this venture, Joanne Nemeroff explains that she is thrilled to introduce Montreal to such a "high- traffic location" that will provide shoppers with a truly unique experience. "It's about getting the best of both worlds and more, all under one roof and one banner," she explained.

Plans for construction of this future store is scheduled to commence in the fall of 2014. Both Ogilvy's and Holt Renfrew will remain open to shoppers during the premature building phase of this project.
