Must see movies to make you laugh and scream.
7 Cheesy Horror Movies You Need To Watch This Halloween

They are bad horror movies, then there are bad horror movies, the ones that go past terrible and are so hilariously bad they're actually good. Bad acting, cheesy effects, and an abundance of plot holes all make these movies great, even though they're terrible. If you want more of a laugh than a scream this Halloween, check out some of our favourite horribly awesome horror movies.

Night of Demons (1988)

Boobs, monsters, and blood pretty much sums up Night of Demons, the trifecta for terribly great scary movies. Crazy teens (will they ever learn?) party in a possessed mansion on Halloween, only for a few to become demons and start slaughtering the rest. Bordering on light pornography, Night of Demons is a prime example of 80's horror movies, and even spawned some equally hilarious sequels, one of which features a demon fighting nun. Best to start at the beginning though, you know how plot-heavy these movies can be. Not.

House (1986)

Just as trippy as it is funny, House is filled with some insane visuals and random time jumps/dream sequences. A spin on the classic haunted house story, an army vet inherits his creepy aunt's old house, which is predictably filled with some spooky secrets. Even if you pay attention to the movie, some really random stuff will happen. Don't be confused if giant deformed hands pop out from doors for no reason, or if the house turns into a jungle setting. Go with the flow, enjoy the insanity, and don't think too hard, which is pretty much a prerequisite for any movie on this list.

Killer Clowns From Outer Space (1988)

I think the title pretty much says it all for this horribly awesome film. A bunch of killer clowns, who are actually aliens, land on a small town and begin to reek havoc and kill people. That's pretty much it. KCFOS is filled with cheesy costumes and the lowest caliber of acting, and combined with a self-awareness of its own inherent ridiculousness, the movie can even be considered groundbreaking for how it pushes the boundaries on silly-scary.

Pumpkinhead (1988)

Teenagers should never visit a dark cabin in the woods. Bad things will happen, especially if you just accidentally killed the child of a local. That's pretty much the plot of Pumpkinhead, with a demonic creature being sicked on the teens to exact revenge. If you enjoy watching young people get snatched up into trees and be over-dramatically murdered by a guy in a bad demon body suit, this is the film for you.

Night of the Lepus (1972)

Lepus means rabbits in Latin, so yes, this movie is about evil rabbits. Evil giant rabbits that is. Night of the Lepus is pretty old, so special effects are pretty much nonexistent. A solid 60% of the movie is literally bunnies jumping around a miniature version of a town, 'terrorizing' citizens. Expect a lot of close up shots of rabbits too.

Leprechaun 6: Back to Da Hood (2003)

The Leprechaun film series is one of the longest running, as the little green goblin has even gone to space, but returns to his ghetto roots in the sixth installment. Ridiculous and filled with racial stereotypes, the film knows its silly and runs with it entirely. Notable scenes include a conversation about the origins of 'my ninja' (a sub for the N-bomb) and a leprechaun battling a witch.

 Pet Semetary 2 (1989)

The original Pet Semetary, based on the Stephen King novel, is a horror classic. The second, not so much. Trying to cash in on the success of the original, the sequel has nothing to do with the original story, except for the haunted animal cemetery that resurrects whatever is buried there. On the whole Pet Semetary 2 is more funny than scary, but this is also the only movie I know of in existence where kittens get brutally murdered, and you see their gory remains! That's right, fucking kittens. You have been warned.
