8 Montreal Charity Events To Go To This Holiday Season

Friends, the holiday season is upon us. I know not everyone is as thrilled as I am - S/O to my 10+ Facebook friends already posting about how it's too early to talk about Christmas - but even the Scroogiest amongst us can't deny one cold, hard fact. The holidays are awesome for giving. And even though being charitable is wonderful pretty much any time of the year, there's a reason why it's called the Season of Giving. So, feel like getting involved in a charitable event, but have no idea where to start? Worry not. Montreal has tons of great opportunities for giving - but here are 8 Montreal Charity Events To Go To This Holiday Season.

1. The Wellness Gala

When: November 21, 2015

Where: Galerie d'art LOFT (8 Rue Saint Paul Est)

Quick question - what could possibly be better than live music, food, and a silent auction? Live music, food, and a silent auction that actually benefits charity. Hosted by The Rotaract Club of Downtown Montreal, proceeds for this event go towards benefiting the West Island Cancer Wellness Centre. Tickets range from the very fair prices of $15-$25, so make sure you check out their Facebook page for more information.

2. Zumbathon Fundraiser

When: November 21, 2015

Where: Cielo Studios (2101 Rte Transcanadienne)

Okay, real talk, who doesn't love Zumba? It's no secret that this dance/workout craze has hit Montreal pretty hard, but do you know what's even better than dancing it out? Dancing it out for a cause. Benefiting Overture with the Arts, the Zumbathon Fundraiser's proceeds towards go their after school program. Check out more information here.

3. #100PourcentHumains

Like wine? Of course you do. And now you can sip some vino for a great cause, all thanks to Ensemble Pour La Respect de la Diversité's cocktail event. Not in the wine mood? No worries. This event also features a bunch of other activities as well (silent auction, anyone?), all to benefit Ensemble Pour La Respect de la Diversité. Intrigued? Mosey on over to their event page for more information.

4. Fauna Foundation With C.A.R.A

When: November 26, 2015

Where: Concordia University, JMSB Building (1450 Rue Guy)

Confession time: I love Chimpanzees. And I also love yoga. If you're a fellow Chimp-loving yoga addict, then I've got some great news for you. You can combine your two loves in life for one awesome cause: the Fauna Foundation (AKA Canada's only Chimp sanctuary). Interested? Check out their Facebook event for more info.

5. BEC to the 50's

When: December 2, 2015

Where: La Sala Rosa (4848 Boul St-Laurent)

Love everything vintage? Then this is the perfect event for you. BEC to the 50's is basically one awesome 50's themed dance party taking place at La Sala Rosa. And other than sounding like the most fun you've ever had in your whole life, proceeds from this event go to benefit the BEC. 6. A Holts Christmas Shopping Experience

When: December 2, 2015

Where: Holt Renfrew (1300 Rue Sherbrooke O)

Christmas shopping is super stressful, but Christmas shopping for a cause is pretty much the most legit thing I've heard of so far. That's right, friends. Holt Renfrew gives you the chance to buy your gifts and benefit the Royal Victoria Hospital's Cedars Breast Clinic at the same time. Sounds pretty awesome, right? Check out more information here.

7. Angelike & Marco's Christmas Concert

Love local reality T.V.? Then you definitely love Angelike Falbo and Marco Bocchiccio, two amazing artists to emerge out of TV's La Voix and La Cours des Grands. On December 5, you can venture into Laval to hear these awesome musicians sing live. Not only do you get the chance be surrounded by great music and top notch local talent, but a portion of the proceeds will also go towards benefiting the Montreal Children's Hospital Foundation. I call that a win win situation, my friends. For more information, click here.

8. #SocialeGivesBack

When: November 17 - December 18, 2015

Although not your typical event, #SocialeGivesBack encourages people to gather essentials and drop them off at specific locations, all to benefit the Shield of Athena.
