9 Reasons Why This American City Should Be Your Next Travel Destination
When you think of romance, what goes through your head? Beautiful European landscapes? Five-star restaurants? Doing fun things with bae?
If your answer is, "yes, all of that, plus a whole lot more," then it might surprise you to know that there's a spot with beautiful weather, sunshine, and good vibes; a place where you can spend some time with your S/O, doing some seriously awesome things, all only about five hours away from Montreal.
Of course, that place just so happens to be Las Vegas. Why? Well, I'm glad you asked.

1. Want to wine and dine bae? You came to the right place.
In my personal opinion, Las Vegas is the restaurant capital of the world. It's got novelty restaurants (jazz-themed House Of Blues at Mandalay Bay, anyone?); celeb chef spots (like Gordon Ramsey BurGR at Planet Hollywood, for example); and some serious hidden gems (for instance, the super delicious Veranda Restaurant at the Four Seasons Hotel Las Vegas).
Las Vegas is also home to a whole lot more foodie havens, such as internationally famous restaurant Guy Savoy at Caesars Palace, and well-loved eatery L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon at the MGM Grand Hotel - all of which are perfect for setting the mood and seriously impressing your date. And yourself, too, if we're being totally honest here.

2. And there's no better place for dinner and a show.
I don't even think I need to tell you about all the awesome shows that take place in Las Vegas; but what I will tell you is that there's nothing more exciting than finishing up a tasty meal and going to watch your fave star perform live, in front of your eyes, with the person you love most in the world.
Besides that, checking out a show in Vegas is a total bucket list experience. Seeing Michael Jackson ONE Cirque du Soleil at Mandalay Bay, Penn and Teller at the Rio, or Britney Spears (!!!) at Planet Hollywood live... honestly, how cool would it be to be able to share that with your significant other? (Also, you guys might totally run into your fave celeb, so selfie sticks at the ready).
3. Vegas' natural beauty will stun the stunner in your life.
Honestly, if you and your significant other enjoy being one with nature, then the abundance of natural beauty in Las Vegas will actually leave you speechless. You and your significant other can grow closer together as you take a couple's hike up Red Rock Canyon; swim through Lake Mead; or drive out to the Valley of Fire and take in the breathtaking sights.
4. Cultured lovers? You've hit the museum motherlode.
There's seriously nothing quite like browsing a museum or art gallery with your significant other. It's a really adorable thing to do if one or both of you are at all into art, and Las Vegas happens to house some of the most gorgeous art galleries and museums, bar none.
Other than the super famous Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art, Las Vegas is also home to the Mob Museum in Downtown Las Vegas, a Hollywood Cars Museum, the uber famous Madame Tussauds Wax Museum at The Venetian, a Neon Museum, a Titanic Artifact Museum at the Luxor, and many, many others. So if you and your lover are also history lovers, then you guys will instantly feel right at home.
5. And if adventure is the name of your game, then Las Vegas is for you guys.
Of course, what's life without a little bit of excitement? Couples who love to throw caution to the wind and dive headfirst into thrill-seeking activities, Las Vegas has got you totally covered.
Slotzilla is quite possibly the most fun activity for the couple who want to try out something new - but the fun doesn't stop there. SPEEDVEGAS, mini baja desert chase adventures, horseback riding, skydiving, helicopter tours, and zombie apocalypse simulations are just a few of the many super fun activities that you and bae will get to experience, possibly for the first time ever, right in Vegas.
6. If you and bae crave the chiller things in life, then you've come to the right place.
Vegas might be known for its vibrant energy, but don't let that fool you. There's a relaxing side to this spot that's absolutely perfect for spending some quality time decompressing with that special someone.
Although we all know about Las Vegas' breathtaking pools and fountains, the spas here are high-key mind-blowing. Kind of like a retreat-within-a-retreat, Las Vegas' various spas, like the well-loved The Spa at Encore, offers relaxation on a whole other, glorious level. There's nothing more romantic than holding hands as the two of you relax in a hot tub.
7. There are no better sights to see than the ones here.
Where else can you and bae experience some seriously cute and romantic things, like unreal water fountains (the Fountains of Bellagio); a breathtaking Times Square-esque strip of LED lights, action, and fun (the Fremont Street Experience); one of the most extravagant aquariums in the world (the Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay); and more all in one day? Honestly, sneaking an adorable kiss on an observation wheel as it overlooks some gorgeous scene is totally on my list of to-dos. Las Vegas has its very own High Roller observation wheel at the LINQ - aka, the world's most perfect spot to cuddle up with your significant other as you overlook all of the gorgeous lights and sights that Las Vegas has to offer.
9. Want a little slice of Europe? You've got it all.
Real talk, Europe is truly romantic. And Las Vegas? Yeah. It's the only place that manages to combine a sparkling, vibrant, fun atmosphere with the romance of the "Eiffel Tower" and the beauty of the "Trevi Fountain"... and, straight-up, the beauty of Europe so close to home.
Actually, Las Vegas is pretty much the only place where you can watch a fun show, dine at internationally renowned restaurants, bask in the beauty of nature, have some serious fun, and just enjoy an awesome, unique vacation with the most important person in your life; and all of this, less than five hours away from Montreal.
