9 Things Happening At Montreal's Women's Day

Tomorrow is International Women's Day! And Montreal is ready to celebrate everything that it means to be a woman.

Every year on March 8th, the women's rights movement is celebrated all over the world. The very first Women's Day was actually celebrated in 1909!

From women's suffrage movements to equal pay strikes to the rights to our own bodies, Women's Day was made to commemorate it all. This day is dedicated to appreciating women in all their glory and commemorating their constant battle in modern society.

Of course, Montreal participates in all the fun and will be holding tons of events tomorrow. From conferences to good events, March 8th is a great day to be a woman or a man. Feminism definitely isn't just for women!

There areendlesssss events happening tomorrow to commemorate women. Here's a couple that you can do tomorrow:

Tournament at Rage

Rage Ax Throwing will be hosting a tournament exclusively for women! This is your chance to show what it actually means to "throw like a girl". Be sure to sign up online with your friends.

Celebrate with the YWCA

The Young Women's Christian Association has helped women for years so, of course, they're going to have an event for International Women's Day. From March 8th to 9th, they will be hosting workshops and an employment fair. Come check it out!

Get your woman some flowers

The Flower Pot Montreal is more than ready for International Women's Day. Though women don't need flowers to be happy, they will never be scoffed at. Flowers are a great way to honor your girl.

Celebrate Mompreneurs

YES is a not-for-profit organization that provides English-language support services for Quebecers looking to get jobs and start their own businesses. Tomorrow they will be hosting workshops and talks to discuss mothers in the entrepreneurial field! The challenges associated with wanting both a career and a family are central to women's issues, so this event is as significant as they come.

Learn about women in aviation

Every International Women's Day, the International Aviation Women's Association organizes events to raise awareness about the importance of the role of women in the aerospace industry. Underrepresentation is a real issue, so come learn about this real issue.

Free hugs from Raelians

The importance of femininity is integral to the Raelian movement. And, we actually have a very big movement right here in Montreal. This weekend at Berri-Uqam from 1 to 2:30 p.m they will be giving out free hugs to spread their message of love and kindness.

This downtown mall is very proud of their participation in International Women's Day. They will be hosting free conferences and giving out gifts. Learn from a beauty trainer, a sommelier and an entrepreneur about the infinite possibilities of female success. Check out the event!

Celebrate the hospitality business with "Women and Whiskey"

Located at Le Vieux-Port Steakhouse, come celebrate at this networking event dedicated to appreciation women's long involvement in the hospitality business. Learn about the importance of maternal instincts, and about just how significant women have been. Including free speakers, complimentary refreshments and snacks, this event will go from 11 a.m to 2 p.m.
