A Breathtaking Meteor Shower Will Be Visible Across Canada This Week

If you've ever been lucky enough to spot a shooting star, you can agree that it's a magical moment.

TL;DR The Leonid meteor shower will be visible across Canada on clear nights between Monday, November 12th and Saturday, November 17th. For the best view, you should look towards the eastern horizon between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. this week, preferably in the country or up north and away from the artificial city lights.

There is something inherently romantic about staring up at the starry sky.

The infinity of the cosmos is so humbling, reminding us of how small we – and in extension, our problems – really are.  In other words, looking up at the night sky reminds us of the importance of slowing down and appreciating the present moment.

If you feel the same way, you'll be happy to know that all of Canada will have front row seats to one of mother nature's most beautiful spectacles, a meteor shower which will be visible all week.

According to a report by CTV, the Leonid meteor shower will be visible across Canada and most of the rest of the world on clear nights between Monday November 12th and Saturday November 17th.

You won't even need a telescope to spot the incoming meteors. All you need is warm clothes if you will be watching outside.

According to expert interviews, for the best view, you should look towards the eastern horizon between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. this week.

Another expert tip: get away from the bright city lights for even better views.  Similar to how we see the stars better when we are in the country or up north, meteor showers are also more visible without the interference of artificial light pollution.

So – if you're looking for a fun date that's easy on the wallet this week, you'll definitely hit the jackpot with this one.
