A Montreal Map To Locate Every Single Outdoor Piano In The City

Pianos are back in the great Montreal outdoors. Summer's arrival and good weather means the city has once again busted out the black and white keys on Montreal's streets, allowing impromptu performances from pretty much anyone.

Started in 2012 in Plateau-Mont-Royal, Montreal's outdoor pianos have spread across the city to Ville-Marie and Sud-Ouest, with ten in total. The piano people are getting organized with a FB page (check it out for more details) and the City of Montreal has a handy map to find 'em all.

Most pianos will be free to use from 10am-8pm, and will be available until around September 5th, depending on the borough. For more info, check out Ville-Marie's FAQ page.

We've listed them all below, with maps included, so you can get tappin' those keys in the streets.

  • Mont-Royal Piano: On Mont-Royal avenue, on the north-west corner of Fullum (map)

  • Frontenac Piano: At Frontenac station, just before the library on Ontario (map)

  • Parc Lhasa-De Sela Piano: On Clark, on the south-side of the intersection with Van Horne (map)

  • Parc Piano: Just before the Mile End Library, a little south of St. Viateur (map)

  • Saint-Denis Piano: Right at the north-east corner of the intersection with Marie-Anne (map)

  • Belvedere Kondiaronk Piano: At the Mont-Royal Chalet (map)

  • St. James United Church Piano: Just before the church of the same name on St. Cats (map)

  • Beaudry Piano: Before Beaudry metro on St. Cats (map)

  • Place Norman-Bethune Piano: On Maisonneuve, just on the corner of Guy (map)

  • Pointe-à-Callière Museum Piano: As of May 30th, right inside the museum complex (map)

Will you be playing an outdoor piano?
