A Montreal Townhouse That Stands Tall Where You Wouldn't Think To Look At All

Naturehumaine's Boyer_03 residence is pure evanescence.
A Montreal Townhouse That Stands Tall Where You Wouldn't Think To Look At All

What do you do when building codes won't let you add a townhouse addition to an existing apartment building? Bypass the regulations completely by just joining the two buildings together. That's basically what architectural firm Naturehumaine did when they hit a snag constructing the Boyer_03 house, and the decision definitely paid off.

A seamless flow between the two structures is created through an interior courtyard, and neither buildings suffers in terms of space by being conjoined, an example of effective densification of urban residences.

On the interior, the townhouse, functioning as a single family home, is made welcoming and warm with light wood panels, despite being attached to a 5-room apartment building.
