A New Poll Reveals Which Province Thinks It's The Most "Disrespected" In Canada

The Canadian provinces have had their rivalries since the beginning of time, or at least, since Canada became a country. Quebec hates British Columbia, Alberta hates Quebec, and no one is particularly fond of Ontario. We pretty much all hate each other in the country that is known as having the "friendliest" citizens.

TL;DR The Angus Reid Institute conducted a study which found that a majority of Canadians feel disrespected by other provinces. Some provinces even go as far as saying they identify more with the United States than the rest of Canada. More details below.

Well, if you had any doubts we were as angry as we are, a new poll suggests that we all feel the exact same way: disrespected. Yes, most Canadians feel disrespected by other provinces.

How disrespected someone might feel does depend on what province the residents are from. For example, 57 percent of British Columbia feel as though they're respected by other provinces, while 7 in 10 people living in Quebec, Saskatchewan, and Alberta feel disrespected by the rest of the country.

The new poll was conducted by the Angus Reid Institute, its purpose is to explore "western identity" at a time where Canadians' relationship with one another is on the rocks for more than one reason.

The poll concluded that 74 percent of western Canadians agree that the West is a very unique part of Canada. Quebec disagrees, with 59 percent of the province feeling as though there is nothing special about the West. 57 per cent of Atlantic Canada agrees with Quebec.

Other information from the poll was also discovered, such as 72 per cent of Canadians west of Ontario feeling like they're treated unfairly by the federal government.

Out of all the provinces, Alberta feels the most disrespected by other provinces, with 74 per cent of the residents in agreement. Over half of British Columbia has even gone as far as saying they identify more with Washington state than the rest of Canada, with only 25 per cent of the province agreeing that Ottawa represents them well.

As you can see, there's a lot of divide in the country.
