TL;DR From January 21 to 22 Canada will be able to witness a Super "Blood Wolf" Moon across night skies. The Moon will be closest to Earth on this night, and it will be the only opportunity to witness this event until May 2022. More details below.

Although you can't really hope or rely on celestial events to arrive when you want them, your holiday wishes will actually be coming true this New Year.

Yes, that's right, 2019 is going to be welcomed by the best celestial event you could imagine.

A total lunar eclipse! In fact, it's not just any lunar eclipse. The event is called a Super "Blood Wolf" Moon and if we're lucky it'll be visible across Canada.

This unique eclipse is so rare that if you don't take the opportunity to watch it dominante the night skies between January 21st and 22nd, then you won't have a chance to see it again until May of 2022! Lets just hope for clear skies for optimal viewing.

The reason this occurrence is known as a Super "Blood Wolf" Moon is because of how abnormally close to the Earth the Moon actually gets. The term "Wolf Moon" comes from Native American and Anglo-Saxon origins.
