A Snapchat Tour Of Montreal's Artistic Masterpieces

Montreal is home to some truly amazing art. Seeing timeless masterpieces can provoke a variety of reactions from awe and wonder to confusion.
However, sometimes incredible works of art can be, intentionally or not, hilarious. If you have yet to see all of the great art this city has to offer, here's a snapchat tour of the highlights.
1. Rodin Exhibition, Musée des Beaux Arts
This exhibition, currently at the Musée des Beaux Arts, features the work of 19th century French sculptor Auguste Rodin. He was particularly known for his statues, which are famously expressive.
2. David Altmejd Exhibition, Musée d'Art Contemporain
Local Montreal artist David Altmejd is presenting his first solo exhibition in town at the Musée d'Art Contemporain. His work explores ideas of decay, rebirth and the imagination. The images below would suggest that Altmejd has a particularly active imagination.
3. Jon Rafman Exhibition, Musée d'Art Contemporain
Canadian artist Jon Rafman, who is also currently showing at Musée d'Art Contemporain, uses various artistic media to explore the effects of the internet and technology use in the 21st century. Video games and social media are among his main inspirations.
4. Contemporary Collection, Musée des Beaux Arts
In addition to the current exhibition on Auguste Rodin, the Musée des Beaux Arts has an extensive collection of contemporary art from local and international artists. Some of the most interesting works from this collection are pictured below.
5. Marion Wagschal Exhibition, Musée des Beaux Arts
Local Montreal artist Marion Wahschal currently has a selection of her paintings on view at the Musée des Beaux Arts. Her work uses an exaggerated form of realism to add drama and emotional depth to otherwise more traditional portraits.
