A Super Rare Solar Eclipse Will Be Visible Over Montreal

It seems like every time we hear about an eclipse Montreal, it turns out to be lunar.
Let's face it, a lunar eclipse may be cool but it happens at night, so it a lot less noticeable. And if you aren't outside starring at the moon, you probably won't even know it's happening.

A solar eclipse, however is pretty spectacular. It's the middle of the daytime, and out of nowhere, the sun disappears and we are left in total darkness.
That's exactly what we have in store for 2017.
On August 21st, at around 10:15 am, Canadians will be able to observe an almost total solar eclipse. The moon will pass directly in front of the sun which will cast a shadow onto the Earth.
From our perspective in Montreal, the sun will be partially covered. Only a small part of the sun will peak above the moon. However, in certain parts of America, the eclipse will cause a total blackout.
