An Air Canada flight that was scheduled to fly from Toronto to Delhi has reportedly turned back after the Pakistani government closed their airspace today.

The Government of Canada is also warning Canadians to "avoid all non-essential travel" to Pakistan due to an "unpredictable" state of security, the risk of terrorist attacks, kidnapping and "sectarian" violence.

The ongoing tension between Pakistan and India has increased over the last couple of weeks, in part due to a suicide bombing that took place on February 14th that killed over 40 people, according to Global News.

CBC also reports that Pakistan shot down two jets from India on Wednesday in airstrikes that were seemingly in retaliation of Indian warplanes striking Pakistan for the first time in over 50 years.

It was reportedyesterday that tensions in the Kashmir region between India and Pakistan could bring the two neighbouring countries into a full-fledged war, which is particularly worrisome as both countries are armed with nuclear weapons.
