Canada's #1 Best New Restaurant Is In Quebec

Might be time to take a little foodie roadie!
Air Canada Ranks Quebec City Restaurant Arvi #1 Best New Restaurant In Canada

A new ranking of the best new restaurants in Canada has put a Quebec City restaurant Arvi in the number one spot, making it the best new restaurtant in Canada in 2019.

The restaurant, Arvi, situated at 519 3ième avenue in Québec, boasts sleek and inviting décor with a menu that is as beautiful as it is delicious.

The ranking was done by Air Canada's in-flight magazine publication called en Route, where they counted down the top 10 best new restaurants to open across our great nation this past year.

Arvi opened this past summer and their philosophy is to "abolish the line between kitchen and table," a philosophy that is brought to life by their bright and open kitchen that dominates the restaurant space, inviting guests to take part int the cooking experience.

Also worth mentioning is Montreal's Restaurant Pastel, which also made the top ten, coming in at number eight. So if you don't have the time or energy for a little foodie roadie out to Quebec City in the near future, consider making a stop at Pastel, right here in Montreal, instead!

ARVI provides two menus to their guests, regular or veg, with a focus on seasonal products, offered as a five-course tasting experience, "prepared before your eyes."

Also, a unique detail is that the team in the kitchen preparing the meals are also the ones who will bring it to you, describe it and serve your wine. Talk about expert service... that's a server that is earning their tip!

According to en Route, Arvi's home now used to be a skate shop, which explains the somewhat industrial vibe of the space that is married perfectly with modern and sleek fixtures and unfussy furniture.

The kitchen is run by French-born chef Julien Masia and Sainte-Foy-raised chef François Blais who have been a dynamic duo for some years now. You may know Blais for his previous resto, Bistro B.

This new announcement means if you find yourself in Quebec City any time soon, you'll want to check out Arvi and their amazing production of food service that is unlike any other.

But, if travel isn't in the cards right now, you can always check out Pastel, located at 124 rue McGill in Montreal, who also made the list of top 10 best new restaurants in Canada, according to en Route.

Bon appétit!
