For the third consecutive year, Air Canada was voted as the Best Airline in North America at the Skytrax Airline Awards. The awards are based on customer satisfaction surveys sourced from over 21 million airline passengers around the world.
The ceremony was held today at the Paris International Air Show. Canada's national air carrier also won awards for Best Airline Staff, Best Business Class Lounge, and Best Cabin Cleanliness. This incredible slew of wins officially distinguishes Air Canada as one of the best airlines in the world.
Since 2012, Air Canada has steadily been investing some $12 billion dollars for their travel experience services. With this, they've completely revamped and elevated the air travel experience.
Calin Rovinescu, President and Chief Executive Officer of Air Canada, said in the official press release that the company thanks customers for their loyalty and that they will continue to enhance all aspects of the Air Canada experience.
She goes on to say that investments will include upgrades to "in-flight entertainment systems", "the introduction of onboard Wi-fi", "narrow-body fleet renewal program", and "a new loyalty program".
Air Canada and it's 33,000 employees were also recognized as the Best Airline Staff in North America. Serving some 51 million customers on six continents, Air Canada's staff is considered as one of the most respectful and well-trained airline crews in the world.
While we have seen some controversy surrounding Air Canada, it is, for the most part, one of the most well-regarded airlines in the world, having won the Best in North America award eight out of the past ten years.
Air Canada operates in more than 220 cities around the world and has recently upgraded its fleet to modern and more efficient planes such as the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
Considered by many as the Oscars of the airline industry, Air Canada has distinguished itself above 300 other competing airlines.
