An All-New "Cat Cafe" Is About To Open In Montreal

I'd like to preface this article by saying that I am deathly allergic to cats, so you won't find me ever at any of Montreal three "cat cafes."

TL;DR  Cafe Chato a new "cat cafe" just opened in Montreal's Verdun neighborhood.

Despite my wild allergies, I definitely do love all animals, cats included. And for anyone who feels the same as me, you would be happy to know that Montreal is opening a brand new cat cafe!

Cafe Chato is located in the gentrifying borough of Verdun, just a quick walk from Verdun metro station.

The best part about this cat cafe is that all the cats you see are up for adoption!

The ambiance of the cafe itself is bright, sunny, and modern. You can enjoy a light vegetarian snack or meal, and they offer cold and hot beverages for you to sip on while you interact with the feline friends.

I love the idea of bringing a first or second date to a spot like this, animals always seem to diffuse the inevitable awkwardness of a first or second encounter.

If you want to check out the Cafe Chato yourself, it's grand opening is this Monday September 24th! Otherwise,  it's open Tuesday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturdays & Sundays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.

But let's focus on the positive! This is usually one of the summer weekends that people are trying to pack in their last days of camping or chalet time. But if you're planning to stay in the city it's good to know what's open and what's closed so you can plan out your Labour Day weekend.
