Montreal's downtown core is getting a brand new building, one that will stand 90 metres high in the sky. Manulife Financial Corp. are the financial backers for the new downtown skyscraper, to be dubbed the Maison Manuvie, according to CTV.

Partnering with Ivanhoe Cambridge, the new Manulife building will be a 27-storey structure situated at 900 de Maisonneuve. Half of the space will be reserved for the insurance company, with about 2, 000 workers from other offices to also move in and fill out the space.

Maison Manuvie is expected to be completedby 2017, with construction planned to begin by early 2015. The building will feature large glass facades and will connect to McGill and Peel metro stations. Check out a concept trailer for the Maison Manuvie building here, link courtesy of CTV.
