An All-New Cirque Du Soleil Show On Ice Is Coming To Canada

If you don't already know by now, Cirque du Soleil is the largest and most renowned circus show in the world. With 47 shows released to immense success, Cirque du Soleil just announced it's 48th show, 'AXEL', to premiere in October. 

'AXEL' is a show on ice, combining incredible acrobatic performances with world-class figure skating. The arena tour begins in October 2019 but Cirque fans can start purchasing tickets as of May 31st, 2019. 

The show is billed as a love story in a fast-paced world between characters AXEL and Lei. With an original score integrated with pop songs, 'AXEL' is set to be a highly visual, entertaining and exhilarating show on ice. 

According to the vice-president of Cirque du Soleil, 'AXEL' will "push the boundaries of creativity" to offer audiences an "electrifying experience".

Cirque du Soleil's first show on ice, 'Crystal' had a hugely successful run in Las Vegas. Cirque du Soleil also showcases a world-class intermission ice show during Vegas Golden Knights hockey games. 

Cirque du Soleil 'AXEL' will premiere in Cornwall, Ontario on October 4th and then take a road trip across seven Eastern United States cities before returning to Montreal and Quebec City. If you're a member of the Cirque Club, you can access the exclusive pre-sale this afternoon. 

'AXEL' will showcase a variety of death-defying acrobatic stunts, along with a variety of on-ice performances that are sure to capture the imagination. The show is also set to be a highly visual experience.

More tour dates will be announced throughout the summer but for now, 'AXEL' will stop at 8 cities including Cornwall, Syracuse, Pensacola, Tampa, and Jacksonville. Montreal and Quebec City will also see shows later this year.

Cirque du Soleil 'AXEL' is the Cirque's 48th production and only the second one on ice. Cirque du Soleil has been to 70 countries worldwide and is one of the most successful Canadian companies in history.
