"7 Beer Release in 5 Weeks! Collaborative Brews, Fan Favourites, and Events at the Brewery and across Ontario!"
Beau`s All Natural brewery located in Vankleek Hill was gracious enough to send us samples of the first two weeks beers of their "FeBREWary" promotion. We are not located in Ontario so we certainly felt honored to be considered to try out some of the best beer on the market.
We have a special place for them in our hearts since we have been attending their annual "Oktoberfest" event for the last couple of years and actually covered the 2012 edition this past fall for the website.
With that said lets take a look back "FeBREWary" and the beers we got to sample.
"Kick off feBREWary by toasting the first ever International Gruit Day, plus we'll be launching "Oiseau De Nuit: Pumpkin Gruit", our collaboration with Elysian Brewing(Seattle, USA) in celebration! And be sure to stop by the brewery on Saturday, we'll have all sorts of Winter Carnival themed fun & games to enjoy, and lots of tasty bottles of beer to take home with you."
"Week two of feBREWary is like stepping into a time machine with the release of our historical re-creation of a Dubbel Koyt(a Dutch gruit made with oats, bog myrtle and yarrow), that was brewed with beer researcher Ron Pattinson. Dubble Koyt provides the rare opportunity to taste beer as it might have existed centuries ago. Plus, we're tapping a wooden cask of Bog•Father at the brewery on Friday. Saturday we'll have our friends from Operation Come Home at the brewery to help us throw a Mardi-Gras style open house for Dubble Koyt. We'll be making pancakes and their Beadworks program will be running a interactive bead station, so come say hi!"
Close this article now if you're afraid of the dark. Cornwall, Ontario's former SDG Jail is set to host nighttime ghost and paranormal activity hunts this September and October.
The event is organized by Ontario-based haunted tour company The Haunted Walk and Phantoms of Yore.
Participants will sit through a "full briefing on the haunted history of the site" — which, according to the company website, includes murders and executions — to set the mood before heading into the 19th-century building to search for any lingering ghouls or lost souls.
The Haunted Walk website indicates that ghost hunters will also receive the necessary equipment for their search.
The "paranormal investigations," as they're called, will take place on five dates: September 17 and 18, and October 22, 23 and 29.
There are several starting time slots available, ranging from 4:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.

The people behind Flamos Peri Peri Chicken are betting that a new twist on a classic recipe will help them break into Montreal's crowded chicken market.
The brand-new chain restaurant recently opened its first location at 72, boul. Saint-Jean-Baptiste in Châteauguay with a menu inspired by African, South American and European flavours and headlined with a unique and interesting twist on classic piri piri chicken.

By all accounts, Montrealers love their Portuguese-style chicken, grilled to perfection and bathed in piri piri sauce, but set aside those presuppositions when it comes to the uniquely flavoured bird coming out of Flamos' kitchen.
"We have been in the restaurant business for 32 years and have always been challenging ourselves to open different concepts over these years by always being creative, innovative and developing different and great tasting meals that people love," a spokesperson told MTL Blog. "We have succeeded in creating a very unique taste. Our chicken is unlike anything you have ever tried."

Aside from their signature chicken, they're also offering refreshing salads, bowls, sandwiches, a variety of imaginative poutines, and desserts. There's also a selection of sauces and a vegan burger.
But wait, there's more. Don't even think about walking away without an order of Coq Mac n' Cheese, cooked with karaage popcorn chicken, cavatappi pasta, aged cheddar, mozzarella, Parmigiana Reggiano, Grana Padano, green onions, and finished with a drizzle of chipotle aioli sauce.
Flamos Peri Peri Chicken is opening locations in Lachenaie and Terrebonne in August and September, respectively, while Ontarians will be able to enjoy this unique cuisine in Mississauga and Kitchener in the fall, with more restaurants to open next year.
Expedia also shared data on Canadians' interest in visiting Quebec destinations. After Quebec City and Mont-Tremblant, Canadians seem to want to travel to La Malbaie, Tadoussac, Montreal and Gaspésie — in that order.
The results were based on searches for trips that would take place between July 7 and September 30.
