Bacon has been acting like a bit of whore lately. It seems like every recipe out there has a version with a bacon twist, proving that you can enhance pretty much any food (sweet or savory) just by adding bacon. But what about bacon? We're always putting bacon on other foods but we're rarely putting other foods on bacon. Probably because you can't just add bacon to bacon and make bacon flavored bacon. But bacon deserve it's own twist and that's when Doritos come into play.

Behold The Doritos Nacho Beer Battered Bacon Strips. They are the apex of unhealthy food and are sure to make you hate yourself for weeks to come. But who cares, it's totally worth it if you get to enjoy these wonderfully crunchy strips of magic. Could you imagine adding these babies to a cheeseburger? We couldn't find any footage of what that would look like, so here's the closest thing we could find.

Now I know you're getting impatient, so without further interruptions, here's what you'll need to make your very own Doritos Nacho Beer Battered Bacon Strips:

  • 1 pack of Thick Bacon
  • 1 cup of flour
  • Half a cup of crushed Doritos
  • 1 tablespoon of baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1 cup of beer

Place your your bacon on a sheet lined with foil. Cook for 15 minutes at 375 degrees and when you're done transfer the bacon to a plate line with paper towels. In a bowl, mix the flour with the crushed Doritos, the baking powder and salt until they're well blended, then slowly add the beer as you keep stirring.

Cut your cooked strips into halves and coat each piece in batter. Drop them in skillet filled with 2 inches worth of boiling oil. Cook 2 minutes on each side and once again place the strips on a plate lined with paper towels.
