Everyone loves bowling. Whether you’re an eight year-old or a 98 year-old, there’s something satisfying about hearing the ball collide with the pins and watching them tumble. Even better, there are cool variations on the standard game like duckpin bowling and disco bowling, so you can play differently depending on how you’re feeling. No matter what you’re in the mood for, the city’s full of exciting options. Here are our favourite Montreal bowling alleys.
1. Montreal Forum Sports Bar
There are lots of cool things to do inside the Forum, like seeing movies or checking out live comedy, but one of our favorites is going bowling. Even though it’s just a game, you might get a bit competitive and work up a sweat, so grab some food and drinks at the sports bar before or afterwards. If you come by on Tuesday or Wednesday, you’ll get two games for the price of one if you buy something at the bar.
2. Quilles G Plus Rosebowl
If you’re into duckpin bowling, this is the place for you. They’ve got 36 duckpin lanes. If ten-pin bowling is more your thing, don’t worry, because they’ve got 36 lanes for that, too. If you’re not even into bowling (in which case, you’re out of your element reading this article), you can still have fun at the pool tables or with the arcade games.
3. Sharx

Sure, some call it Sharx Pool Bar, but it’s their bowling lanes that really tie the place together. They’ve got Cosmic Bowling under blacklights for a trippy experience you won’t soon forget. It’s open until 3 AM seven days a week, so you can bowl at your convenience. Be warned, though, they don’t take reservations after 7 PM Thursday-Saturday, and it gets crowded quickly.
4. Salon de Quilles Darling
This is the place to go if you’re looking for a party atmosphere while you bowl. They offer Disco Bowling, complete with disco balls, smoke machines, and laser lights. It’s a great place to play a game, or to just go out and mingle.
5. Boulzeye
3655 Boulevard du Tricentenaire
Don’t worry about being uncomfortable at this bowling alley, because they’ve got comfy leather sofas in every lane that can easily seat six people. If you’re feeling confident about your skills, you can join a league. Just remember that there are rules that you have to abide by if it’s a league game. If you get bored of bowling, they’ve also got great laser tag to keep you entertained.
6. Salon de Quilles Centre Domaine
If you’re a morning person, you’ve gotta come here, because they open at 8 AM 365 days a year. They keep the fun going, too, since they’re also open until 3 AM every day. But it’s not like long hours are all this alley has to offer. They’ve got disco lights and a full bar, so you can order a White Russian or whatever other cocktail you’re in the mood for.
7. Quilles Fleury
Come to Fleury if competition is your thing. They’re a proud member of Canada’s most prestigious bowling tournament, the United Bowling Championship, in which thousands of bowlers around the country compete every year. If you’re good enough, and you’ve got the necessary means to be a part of this competition, you’re going to want join in on the fun.
8. Laurentian Lanes
Check out Laurentian if you’re worried about finding enough room for everybody you’re bowling with—they’ve got a whopping 66 lanes! Not only that, but they’re full of cool features like glow surfaces for glow-in-the-dark Cosmos Bowling. They’ve been helping Montrealers who love bowling get their fix since 1959.
9. Club 300 Bowling Bar
1626 Boulevard Taschereau, LeMoyne
We love bowling as much as anyone, but it’s always nice to be able to change it up a little bit. You’ll have no shortage of ways to do that here. Every Thursday, it’s Ladies’ Night, and there’s awesome karaoke starting at 10 PM. If you want to party and bowl, come out on Saturdays for Disco Bowling and DJ Wax performing live.
10. Bar Notre-Dame-Des-Quilles
This place is known primarily as a lesbian bar, but people of all genders and sexual orientations love hanging out here. Whether you’re here for the dive-y atmosphere, cheap drinks, or to roll a few games, you’re sure to have a great time. You’ll have to set the pins yourself, but it’s a sacrifice well worth making.
