Best Montreal Breakfast Restaurants In NDG

Living in the west of Montreal, it can sometimes feel like that when it comes to restaurants, your options are pretty limited. Luckily, this is not actually the case, especially when it comes to breakfast restaurants.

NDG has plenty of amazing places to get the most important meal of the day, any day of the week. Read on below for the best breakfast restaurants in NDG.

1. Prohibition

5674 Monkland

If you're looking for somewhere to get a full-on breakfast on the weekends, then Prohibition is the spot for you. This casual restaurant has a killer Canadian comfort food brunch menu with a huge variety of options. Our recommendation? The lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote and sugar bacon. It's simply delicious. But if pancakes aren't your thing, they also have a sinfully delicious breakfast poutine.

2. Café Orange

4011 Decarie

Sat in the heart of NDG, Cafe Orange has a big breakfast menu featuring equally big portions. They make delicious smoothies (the strawberry banana one in particular), but their breakfast sandwich is a must try. It comes on a croissant loaded with a fried egg, bacon, american sliced cheese, lettuce and tomato. It's sure to fill you up and leave you satisfied.

3. St. Viateur Bagel & Cafe

5629 Monkland Ave.

Luckily for us, this iconic Montreal bagel shop doesn't stop at just making to-die-for bagels. They also have an extremely appetizing breakfast menu. If you're looking for something hearty, go for the Sloppy Johnny. It comes with homestyle potatoes, sliced italian sausages, provolone cheese, an egg, and your choice of bagel. They also have tons of other options, which are also great, including omelettes, cereal and parfaits.

4. Cafe 92

6703 Sherbrooke O

If you're a coffee in the morning kind of person, then Cafe 92 is the spot for you. This cozy neighbourhood cafe makes absolutely amazing coffee, which you can enjoy with any one of their fresh muffins, bagels or other baked goods. The staff is always friendly and helpful, so this is an all around great choice for your next breakfast outing.

5. Restaurant Eggsfruitti

6710 Saint Jacques O.

So, you want to go out to breakfast but maybe don't have a ton of time to spare? Then Eggsfruitti is an excellent choice. The service here is always quick and the food options are seemingly endless. If you're stuck on what to pick, go for the strawberry filled pancakes. They come with potatoes, toast and your choice of sausage, bacon or ham.

6. Cosmos Snack Bar

5843 Sherbrooke O

For a pint-sized diner, Cosmos pumps out some hearty meals. They're famous for their Mish Mash Omelette, which seemingly has a little bit of everything on the menu (bacon, eggs, ham, sausage, salami, tomatoes, onions and cheese, all fried in butter). We hope you don't have any other plans, because it's enough to put you into a food coma for the rest of the day.

7. Ye Olde Orchard

5563 Monkland

If you're looking for some hearty pub fare in the AM, Ye Olde Orchard has the breakfast menu for you. Their Highlander Breakfast comes with sausages, ham, bacon, scammbled eggs and their IrishToast (which is French toast dipped in Bailey's). They also take a page out of Dr. Seuss's book and make a Green Eggs and Ham dish, which is actually just scrambled eggs with pesto.

8. Café Oxford

5630 Sherbrooke W

This mom and pop eatery is a great place to grab brunch and sit out on the terrace. They have all-day breakfast 7 days a week, so it's perfect for those of us who can't seem to make it out of bed early enough for regular breakfast hours. If you're feeling adventurous, order The Elvis: french toast slathered with peanut butter and topped with sliced bananas and delicious bacon.

9. B&M Restaurant

5800 Sherbrooke O

While they're known for their pizza, B&M also makes an awesome breakfast. They have all the breakfast classics, from pancakes to eggs to crepes, so you'll be sure to find something you like. It can get a little mobbed on the weekends, so make sure you go early.

10. Next Door Pub And Grill

5175 Sherbrooke O

The all new breakfast menu at Next Door Pub is sure to be an instant crowd pleaser. If you're looking for something sweet, you absolutely have to try the Nutella stuffed banana pancakes. But if you're in more of a savoury mood in the mornings, then go for the Eggie In A Bagel Basket. It's a St-Viateur bagel with a sunny side up egg, topped with asparagus and provolone cheese. And last but not least the BEST part about Next Door Pub's breafast experience is all you can drink mimosas and caesars for $30. You know you want to!
