1. Qing Hua

1676 Avenue Lincoln

Is it safe to say that Qing Hua is the king of the dumpling scene in Montreal? I definitely think so. I can't even count how many times I've been here, and each time, the dumplings have been flawless. Chewy, thick skins give way to tender and flavourful fillings and hearty, steamy broth - honestly, I'm salivating just writing about it. If you've never been to Qing Hua... well, stop what you're doing, and get yourself there.

2. Sammi & Soupe Dumpling

1909 Rue Sainte-Catherine Ouest

Qing Hua's little sibling, Sammi & Soupe Dumpling is owned by the same people who own Qing Hua. The proof is in the pudding, friends. Even though Sammi and Qing Hua specialize in different types of Chinese dumplings - Northern and Southern style, respectively - the same flavour, quality, and allover deliciousness you've come to expect from Qing Hua is very obviously present at Sammi. All the yums, friends. All the yums.

3. HarBin

4801 Boul St-Laurent

Somewhat new to the scene, HarBin's dumplings score some major points for being - well, for being delicious, frankly. The dumplings are stuffed with flavourful, hearty, delicious fillings and enveloped in that chewy, tasty dumpling skin. But the best part? You can get HarBin's dumplings fried, steamed, boiled, or even in a soup. Yes. Dumpling soup. Let that sink in as you're frantically making your way there, ASAP.

4. The Fortune Dumpling & Bubble Tea

1629 Rue Ste-Catherine O

First of all, shoutout to this place for their amazing Jianbing (Chinese egg pancake), which is pretty much on par with their scrumptious dumplings. Speaking of - their dumplings? OMG. Fresh, delicious, and served steaming hot, you can enjoy The Fortune Dumpling & Bubble Tea's amazing morsels of happiness both steamed and fried. Protip: try the pork and dill (and add a drop of vinegar to the spicy oil). Thank me later.

5. Mai Xiang Yuan

Ever have a meal so delicious you start to weep? That just might happen to you at Mai Xiang Yuan. It's like every single super fresh ingredient has come together to create the perfect Chinese dumpling, piping hot and full of delicious broth, just for you. I honestly think Chinoiseries & Dumplings hits every single marker for being an amazing dumpling place. Seriously. Legit-yet-unique dumplings? Check. Awesome service? Check. Welcoming, friendly atmosphere? Check and check. 7. Jiu Xiang Yuan

931 Rue Jean-Talon Ouest

Okay, first of all, yum. Jiu Xiang Yuan is located in Parc-Extension, a little far from the rest of these places. But that's okay. Their delicious dumplings more than make up for it. Of course, if you do happen to live near there, then you're extra lucky - you don't have to travel too far for delicious, fresh dumplings. Rejoice, friends. Rejoice.

8. La Maison Du Nord

2130 Rue Saint Mathieu

Which should officially rename itself to La Maison Du Yum, I think. Okay, no, that was a terrible attempt at a bad pun - but the point remains, the food at La Maison Du Nord is so legit, so delicious, and so, so on point. Of course, this goes for their dumplings. Or as I like to call them, envelopes of pure joy. Seriously. Fresh, delicious, and super authentic, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better dish to dine on.

9. Nos Thes

1609 Rue Ste-Catherine O

First of all, major bonus points for having one of the most awesome atmospheres out there. Seriously, you can pretty much do anything at Nos Thes - want to study? No problem. Want to catch up with friends after a long time of not seeing them? Perfect place. Want to grab a quick lunch between classes? You've found the spot. 10. Mei

1425 Rue Mackay

Mei has two different types of Chinese dumplings on their menu. Which pretty much sounds like heaven to me, TBH. Of course, putting aside the fact that you have the option to order both Xiao Long Bao and Jiaozi style dumplings - which in and of itself is an awesome little accolade - the food is, at its core, freaking delicious. The dumplings here feature doughy, fresh skins and warm, soupy, and delicious fillings - and all of this for a super affordable price. I know, friends. I know.
