Ah yes, espresso. The magical drink that helps us get through life's difficulties... More specifically exams and long days at work. What's hard with espresso is finding a place that actually serves authetic espresso, and with all the cafes arround Montreal, it's become pretty hard to find those gems.
So, I decided to help us all out alittle by recommending some of my personal favorite espresso bars and cafes that are absolutely insane in ambiance and espresso skills. If you feel like I missed a great espresso bar then share with us some of your favorites in the comments below!
This cafe is cute AF and perfect for a chill day during any season. If you and your friends ever happen to be walking in the Plateau area, then this is a great spot to make for a lowkey snack, some fun talks, and exquisite espresso!
This espresso bar may be busy but it's so chill and honestly the best place in Montral for some fresh espresso! I definitely suggest coming here if you have a lot of work to do since that espresso will keep you up all night! They even have a cute indoor balcony/terrasse that gives you great views over delicious espresso.
Founded in 1970, Café Olimpico has become pretty famous in Montreal for their fabulous espresso! They are located in the heart of the Mile End and offer a vibrant ambiance filled with espresso lovers just like you.
Monkland Village sure is full of great cute places to take grab a coffee with a special someone, but I recommend heading to MELK! This hipster cafe is absolutely adorable and very cozy to make ay cold day 10 times better with their hot AF espresso.
The first time I walked past Café Névé, I was in absolute shock and I ran in. Not only is it so lowkey, but they also have A1 espresso! The ambiance is chill and perfect for cathcing up with your BFF over from lovely espresso.
Café Myriade is most known for their exquisite coffee in both their Mile End and Concordia University locations. Teaming up with Club Monaco, Café Myriade Monaco is located directly inside the trendy shop on Sainte-Catherine Street. It's the perfect cafe to stop at before you've shopped and dropped since you can enjoy some great espresso to keep your energy up!
Kitsuné is 100% adorable and their espresso is 514% AMAZING! The ambiance is very relaxing, making it perfect to take some shots of espresso to finish studying for your latest exam. Not only is there espresso A1, but their snacks are to die for!
This local cafe puts the espress in espresso! This cafe is great for a typical day to day espresso pit-stop. You won't be overwhelemed by plants, flowery wallpaper, or art. But, your tastebuds will thank you after you try their insane espresso!
While there are a million and one spots to enjoy a 5 à 7 in the city, not everywhere does happy hour quite like this Montreal restaurant in the Village.
Resto Keela serves $6 drinks from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., including house draft beer, house red or white wine, and speed rail mixed drinks, which is a choice of vodka, rye, rum, or gin — a pretty hard drink deal to beat.
As for food, you can go every week and try a different $6 dish at happy hour. "The $6 bites change from week to week but we always offer 3-5 options," owners Kristin Murphy and Johnny Hamilton told MTL Blog.
I went on September 10 and got to try green beans with a cashew romesco sauce and feta crumble, chorizo sausage, chicken Kaarage with kimchi cucumbers, and organic cherry tomato salad with blue cheese. And I kid you not when I say these dishes all take your taste buds on a culinary trip to heaven.
Keela's full menu is also filled with tons of unique dishes for you to try. The celery root carpaccio is hands down my favourite.
Every Friday night, you can hear the sweet voice of Bud Rice sing live at the restaurant.
