In general they're made with some sort of grilled meat that's been sautéed with peppers and onions, and is served to you on a sizzling skillet. There are quite a few options in Montreal when it comes to fajitas, so we've save you the hassle and compiled a list of the best ones in the city.

Technically Epazote & Haricot is in Dorval, but it's totally worth the drive just to try a bite of their amazing food. They have 6 different kinds of fajitas: vegetarian, chicken, chorizo, beef, pork chop, and shrimp. They're all made with sautéed onions and peppers and served on a soft corn tortilla with guacamole, pico de gallo salsa and refried black beans. Who could say no to that?

Tequila Taco House

2 Sherbrooke E

Tequila Taco House is known for serving up some of the best Mexican food in Montreal, and their fajitas are no exception. They give you the option of having a grilled steak, chicken or shrimp base, and serve it up with sautéed onions, red and green peppers, rice, guacamole, cheese, sour cream, and flour tortillas. Pair it with one of their margaritas and you'll be in for some smooth sailing.

1425 Bishop

Operating as a resto-lounge, Mesa 14 serves up all of your favourite Mexican dishes in an upscale atmosphere. Everything there is great, and their fajitas never disappoint. You get your choice of sirloin steak, grilled chicken breast or grilled shrimp, and they're all served with bell peppers, onions, tomato, sour cream, guacamole, pico de gallo, cheese, and a warm tortilla. And don't worry, they haven't forgot about the vegetarians out there - you can substitute the meat for portobello mushroom.

3605 Saint Denis

This Mexican cantina is conveniently located right by the Sherbrooke metro station for easy access. What's even better is that they have a chicken fajita that'll blow you mind. The chicken is cooked perfectly and comes with gucamole, beans, rice and salad. Make sure you wear your eating pants because this is a giant plate that'll leave you absolutely stuffed.

Casa de Mateo

For a seriously delicious chicken fajita, you have to check out Casa de Mateo. It's made with sautéed red and green peppers, fresh mushrooms, garlic and tangy onions and is served with creamy guacamole, a soft home-made tortilla and cheese. You can also sub out the chicken for filet mignon or shrimp at an additional cost. And in case you eat too much and slip into a food coma, Casa de Mateo is also a hotel, so you can just book yourself a room.
