1. Le Taj

2077 Rue Stanley

Le Taj offers a special Table D'Hote option that allows you to pick a good number of their dishes, so you can try a bunch of things all at once. And this is a genius idea, considering that the food at Le Taj just might be what actual dreams are made of. I'm serious. Their food is fresh and bursting with flavour, and as soon as you try one of their awesome dishes (shoutout to their aloo gobi and mattar paneer, which gave me life the instant I tried them), you'll be transported to a place of pure happiness. Delicious? Delicious.

2. Sahib

225B Hymus Boulevard

Okay, first of all, let me just say this: wow. Sahib's butter chicken is amazing: super juicy and tender, with a creamy, flavourful sauce. And the best part? They offer a buffet, friends, so you can eat as much of their melt-in-your-mouth butter chicken as you want. And, hey, while you're at it, why not grab some of their perfectly charred chicken tikka? Or one of their crispy samosas? Or any of the other fresh, delicious options they offer; because honestly, there's no going wrong at Sahib.

3. Darbar

2027 St. Laurent

Yeah, eating here? It'll definitely put a huge smile on your face - and, you know, it might even bring a small tear of joy to your eye. (Or, if you're like me, you'll be full-on sobbing at the perfection in front of you. Whatever, I'm not ashamed of it). This cozy restaurant serves up some of the most legit Indian dishes around, with fresh ingredients, juicy meats (that tandoori chicken though) promising an amazing dining experience no matter what you decide to eat.

4. India Beau Village

640 Rue Jarry O

Samosas on point, life on point. And the samosas at Beau Village? Fresh, tasty, and crispy; in other words, so, so on point. But don't limit yourself to just the samosas, friends. Beau Village boasts a hugely varied menu, full of fresh and tasty delights. Of course, not only means that there's something for everyone, but also that you're definitely going make it your mission to try every single thing on the menu - twice. Yup. The food here is that good.

5. Singh's

3712 Boul St-Laurent

A relatively new contendor on Montreal's Indian cuisine scene, Singh opened up last year, but has already been making waves. And for good cause: their food? OMG. Amazing. Wrap that up with super fair prices and a gorgeous interior, and you've got the recipe for your next outing, friends. Oh, and try their palak paneer. Paneer smothered in spinach and tomatoes, and spiced to perfection? Yes. Please.

6. Maison India

5868 Rue Sherbrooke O

Hey, friend, do you love quality? Don't answer that. I know you do. That was a bit of a dumb question, sorry, but my point was that the quality of the food at Maison India? Amazing. Fresh, flavourful dishes are the highlight of this friendly establishment - and although the clear standout to me is their saag paneer, which is bursting with flavour and full of chunks of delicious paneer - you really can't go wrong with whatever you pick. It's just that good. Get there now, friends, and thank me later.

7. Curry Mahal

3814 Boul St-Laurent

Truth time: butter chicken is my obsession. Whenever I go for Indian, that's my go-to dish; and although I love exploring other, more complex dishes, butter chicken is the one I always go back to. And the butter chicken at Curry Mahal? Among the best I've tried. But honestly, I can just as easily say that for any of their other dishes. Their food is fresh, their meats are juicy, their vegetables are crisp, and every single dish in the place is bursting with flavour. Run there, friends. Run there.

9. Pushap

5195 Rue Paré

Vegetarian friends, do I have some good news for you. Among serving one of the tastiest, freshest Indian meals in the city, Pushap has the added benefit of being a vegetarian restaurant. Meaning that you can indulge in all of their fresh, delicious dishes. No restrictions for you; go beast. Of course, the best way to do this would be to choose their Thali plate, which lets you try a variety of their offerings. Protip: their papri chat? Out of this world.

10. Chand Palace

989 Jean Talon Street West

Friends, all it takes is one bite of the food at this casual eatery to turn you into Chand Palace addict (Chanddict?). The food here is mind-blowing. Their sauces are always seasoned to perfection; their chicken is always moist; their lamb, super tender and flavourful. I could go on forever and ever about how fresh and yummy their food is, but honestly, my words cannot do it justice. You have to try it for yourself. Also, major points for being a BYOB and for offering super reasonable prices.
