For all the seafood lovers out there, summertime means being able to chow down on countless, incredibly delicious lobster rolls. Because, let's be honest, there's really no better way to eat lobster than in sandwich form. Hearty chunks of lobster, lightly coated in mayo and loaded onto a warm hot-dog bun? What could be better than that!

Thanks to Montreal's proximity to the ocean, we have plenty of fresh lobster at our fingertips, and tons of amazing restaurants turning that lobster into the most delicious rolls you could ever imagine. Read on below for the best spots in the city to grab yourself a lobster roll.

1. Lucille's Oyster Dive

This Montreal gem excels in all things seafood - lobster rolls included. Lucille's keeps their rolls clean and simple with a classic hot dog bun absolutely stuffed with fresh lobster salad. And don't worry if you're scared one won't be enough, because they give you two! And if you're in a hurry you can also get these god-sends to-go from Lucille's food truck.


2. Cartel Street Food Bar

Serving up a wide variety of amazing street fare, Cartel knows how to do it right. They're always busy, but these lobster rolls are worth the wait. You're guaranteed to enjoy every bite of freshly steamed lobster sat on top of a perfectly golden bun. It's definitely a dish that'll keep you coming back. Oh and they also have a food truck so you can get it to go.

3. Kitchenette

While Kitchenette may be known for making some of the best southern cuisine in the city, they've also mastered this east coast staple to add some tasty variety to their menu. This delectable roll comes comes with butter salad and crispy french fries with mayo, and is sure to be one of the best meals you've had in a long time. They also use sustainable seafood, so you can feel even better about yourself while eating it.


4. La Societe

La Societe may be a relatively new Montreal culinary addition, but it's already making a name for itself with its delicious French cuisine. To make things even better they have an amazing seasonal lobster roll on their menu that's made with chunks of lobster mixed with mayo, fresh dill and ground black pepper, all served up on a golden house-made roll. Your mouth is sure to be watering from beginning to end.


5. Bocata

Operating as a Spanish-French tapas restaurant, Bocata has one of the best lobster rolls in town. The fresh morsels of lobster on a lightly toasted pain au lait are served up with a corn, feta and pancetta salad with lobster bisque vinaigrette. It's a lobster overload of the best kind. There's no way you'll leave this restaurant unsatisfied.


6. Muvbox

The quirkiness of Muvbox alone is enough to make you want to eat here every day. It's a seasonal, outdoor "lobster shack" that operates out of a shipping container in Old Port. They're known for their lobster rolls, and for good reason. These solid sandwiches are made with a hot dog bun and tons of lobster chunks. Grab one to go and have a seat by the water for an amazing dining experience.


7. Commerce Bar Gastronomique

Commerce Bar Gastronomique is a modern gastropub located in downtown Montreal. Their menu in general is pretty amazing, but the lobster roll is really a standout. It comes with hearty chunks of lobster on fresh French bread, which is sure to fill you up in no time. It's featured on both their lunch and dinner menus, so not to worry, you can get it at any time of day!

8. Chez Delmo

If you like being able to go to a classy establishment but still chow down on a mean lobster roll, Chez Delmo is the place to go. This fish and seafood restaurant will give you a slightly more refined version, with 2 mini rolls and a ramekin of fries. The rolls may be smaller but trust me, they have just as much flavour.

Les Tontons Flingueurs is a French Bistro with a warm and casual atmosphere. It consistently has amazingly delicious food, and their lobster rolls are no exception.
