1. Yia Sou!

5375 Chemin Queen Mary

Okay, my obsession with this place is real. Yia Sou is home to some of the most delicious Greek food I've ever tasted (their calamari is one of the best dishes I've ever had, hands down) - so it's only natural that their souvlaki would be out of this world amazing. And, friends, it is. Fresh chunks of flavourful meat, creamy, tangy tzatziki, and crisp, tasty veggies are perfectly stuffed into the softest, warmest, fluffiest pita you can imagine, making for a souvlaki pita experience that you'll legit never forget.

2. Elatos

550 Rue Jarry O

Although there's a lot of hype surrounding the gyro pita at Elatos (and rightfully so; the gyros there is pretty much what pure happiness is made out of), their pork souvlaki? Yeah, I'd argue that it's the real star of the show. Everything at Elatos is fresh, authentic, and extremely delicious, with vibrant flavours and high-quality ingredients that come together to make for one pretty perfect meal; and their souvlaki dish? The perfect example of Elatos' all-over awesomeness.

3. Villa Du Souvlaki

5347 Rue Sherbrooke O

This NDG restaurant has gotten some love from me in the past; but honestly, this spot deserves infinite shoutouts. Especially for its incredibly delicious souvlaki pita (my fave here is their pork pita, but their chicken one is equally life changing). The tzatziki is thick and flavourful; the vegetables are fresh and add a delicious layer of texture and taste to the pita; and the meat? Seriously juicy, perfectly seasoned chunks of pork stuffed into a super thick and delicious pita. One bite, and you'll be hooked. Possibly for life. The souvlakis here are just that good.

4. Nostos

9530 Boulevard de l'Acadie

Okay, confession time: I'm at Nostos an unhealthy amount. But those of you who have tried the Greek delights at this Ahuntsic spot know that you can't blame me. Although their specialty is their Greek-style grilled chicken (which you absolutely, 100% need to try), my personal favourite dish at this establishment is their pork souvlaki. Although the pork itself is juicy, marinated and cooked to perfection, and incredibly tasty, what really gets me about this souvlaki? The tzatziki. Thick, creamy, and flavoured incredibly well, this stuff comes slathered onto a perfect souvlaki, to make for one infinitely amazing dish. Oh, and bonus points for encasing everything in a slightly thinner, crisper pita, allowing for all the flavours to stand out and marry together perfectly.

5. Village Grec

654 Rue Jean-Talon O,

At this point, Village Grec is pretty much an institution in Montreal. This spot is highly popular, and there's one very good reason for that: Their food? Out. Of. This. World. And that includes their fresh, delicious, super flavourful souvlaki dishes. Oh, and the best part? Not only does Village Grec offer some of the most delicious souvlaki dishes in the city, but their portions are phenomenal. Seriously - you're going to want to get there hungry. (Although, to be honest, the food here is so good that there's no such thing as enough).

6. Souvlaki George

6995 Av de Monkland

At this stage in the souvlaki game, if you don't know about Souvlaki George... well, sorry to say it, but you've been missing out. Big time. Another Montreal classic spot to grab some seriously legit souvlaki, Souvlaki George has been impressing Montrealers with its fresh and tasty souvlaki dishes for nearly a quarter of a century. My personal fave? Their chicken pita, which, with savoury chunks of incredibly tasty chicken wrapped in Souvlaki George's delicious pita, is quite possibly one of the best chicken pitas I've tasted. But, of course, no matter what you get at this spot - you know you're in for a good time.

7. Marathon Souvlaki

3313 Boulevard des Sources

Ah, Marathon. At this point, I think it's pretty safe to say that this spot is straight up amazing, and should absolutely be your go-to spot for delicious Greek fare... and even more delicious souvlaki. Seriously, nothing I say about the fresh, juicy, tasty souvlaki here can do it any justice... it's best if you just go and try it out for yourself, if you haven't already.

8. Alto Restaurant

3462 Av du Parc

Alto's super extensive menu is full of delicious dishes - but they're truly at their best when they're serving up their souvlaki. All of their souvlaki dishes are good, but in particular, their pork souvlaki - featuring perfectly cooked chunks of juicy, moist pork - is amazingly mind-blowing. The next time you find yourself at Alto's? Spring for the souvlaki. Even if you don't find yourself there, get yourself there. Trust, it's more than worth it.

9. Parthenon

3543 Avenue Van Horne

Although the souvlaki pita at Parthenon is a thing of pure beauty, the souvlaki brochettes here? Literally game changing. The meat at Parthenon is always super juicy and tender, perfectly charred, and seasoned so that it's pretty much an explosion of flavour in your mouth at all times. Of course, should you choose to get their souvlaki pita, you're in for their signature delicious meat, plus the added bonus of tasty tzatziki, crisp veggies, and a soft, delicious pita. Winning? You bet.

10. Souvlaki Bar

190 Promenade Du Centropolis

This trendy Laval restaurant is home to some of the best souvlaki dishes in the city, hands down. Not only is there food pretty much a work of art (their souvlaki dishes are consistently bursting with flavour and freshness, and overall, seriously delicious), but Souvlaki Bar's Centropolis location and trendy, super fun vibe makes it the perfect spot to go for a date, for a dinner with friends, for a gathering, for a birthday party... for pretty much anything, really. Run there, friends, and prepare for an awesome time.
