Best Montreal West Island Restaurants To Bring A Date This Summer
While people usually associate a hot date with Montreal's more "trendy" neighbourhoods such as the Plateau, Griffintown or the Old Port, restaurants in those areas tend to come with their fair share of parking nightmares and inevitably stiff bills at the end. While I'm not saying that the downtown core doesn't offer world-class places to eat and drink to impress that someone special, sometimes it's nice to get out of the city and away from the hustle and bustle to experience some culinary gems you may not have tried before.
The West Island is often unfairly neglected as a foodie destination even though it offers some seriously fine dining options. So the next time you are wondering where to go for a romantic dinner, consider heading west. And if you happen to live in the West Island, you already know what I'm talking about.
1. Table 09
Where: 9 Place Frontenac (Pointe-Claire)
What: As a new addition to the West Island with a big wrap-around terrasse, Table 09 makes a great place to bring a special someone you're trying to impress, especially if you are looking for a little taste of the Mediterranean. Everything from Fattouche salad with grilled figs and grilled halloum cheese with pomegranate, to Lebanese mezze, grilled fillet mignon, and delicious couscous with lamb, Table 09 specializes in Mediterranean flavors but with their own unique twist. 2. 3 Brasseurs

What: For the real beer lovers out there, 3 Brasseurs is a great casual place to relax and enjoy a meal with your date. A dedicated brewmaster at every location creates unique brews on site that highlight the history and culture of Pointe-Claire. The Meunière is their specialty cream ale that pays tribute to the settlers who developed the lands west of Montréal in the 18th century, and in fact, the Pointe-Claire Mill remains one of the oldest landmarks on this part of the island. With 3 Brasseurs's new menu, using only the freshest ingredients, you'll have fun pairing different craft beers over great conversation.
3. Kitchen 73

What: Because not all good dates happen at night, or alternatively can extend to the next day, Kitchen 73 serves up some of the best brunches in the West Island. This trendy, upscale breakfast and lunch spot boasts a plethora of affordable staples as well as unique Italian-inspired dishes in a modernist setting. Kitchen 73 prides itself on using farm-fresh local produce and really friendly service, but the food really does speaks for itself. The potatoes are ridiculously good, and you can't go wrong with a breakfast pizza and breakfast poutine. Portions are huge, and Kitchen 73 even offers an impressive gluten-free menu to boot.
4. Towne Hall
Where: 50 Boulevard Brunswick
What: Towne Hall's sophisticated yet casual elegance and fresh European-inspired cuisine makes it the perfect place to impress that special someone, without breaking the bank. Located in the heart of the West Island, don't be fooled by its grand entrance, opulent chandeliers, and luxurious banquets; Towne Hall is an affordable indulgence you and your date will love.
Enjoy a seasonal and modern menu with a wide selection of delicious wood-fired pizzas, pastas, juicy steaks and burgers, expertly prepared fish and seafood dishes, and much more. What: If you and your date are real seafood lovers, Terra Mare is the place to go. Delighting hungry West Islanders with amazing food, service and decor since 1976, Terra Mare's solid reputation and great selection of fresh fish and succulent seafood is truly unbeatable. You'll find all the classics here including Moules au Pernod, Coquille Saint-Jacques, Linguini aux Fruits de Mer, and Poached Lobster, as well as plenty of choice steak cuts for you more carnivorous folks. What: At the risk of sounding cliche, if you're looking for delicious food as well as a unique experience, you gotta eat here!Having been actulally featured on The Food Network's popular show (You Gotta Eat Here), Jukebox Burger definitely knows its stuff and is serving up some of the best burgers and other diner classics in the city, let alone the West Island. What makes Jukebox so special though is definitely the 1950s throwback they got going on, with red vinyl booths, chrome edges, checkered-tile floor, and of course, a jukebox playing favourites by Elvis, Chuck, Buddy and more. With meat ground in-house daily, buns baked fresh each morning, hand-cut potatoes, and milkshakes served right from the blending cup, take a trip down memory lane for your next date at Jukebox Burgers.
7. Madisons NY Bar & Grill

What: Madison’s New York Grill & Bar offers several locations around Montreal, including one in DDO. While satisfying your sweet tooth to cap off your evening to remember won't be hard to do at any one of the fine establishments mentioned in the list, if you are looking for something extra special, Rockaberry's got you covered. Most famous for their delicious retro milkshakes, and homemade pies, Rockaberry also offers a cozy terrasse to enjoy a slice of say their Blueberry Crumb Cheese Pie (seriously to die for) as well as sip on some tasty cocktails while you and your date get to planning date #2.
